Estudiantes ponen nombre a nuevos K9 del Sheriff del Condado de Lake

Lake County, IL. – El alguacil John D. Idleburg y la Unidad Canina del Alguacil del Condado de Lake se complacen en anunciar los nombres de los dos caninos del alguacil más nuevos.
Entre el 4 y el 25 de marzo de 2022, la Juventud del condado de Lake presentó los nombres sugeridos para los nuevos caninos. Casi 400 niños enviaron su nombre preferido para los caninos.
Los nombres seleccionados para nuestros dos caninos más nuevos son Canine Axel y Canine Echo. El estudiante de segundo año de Deerfield High School, Ethan Jacobs, así como los estudiantes de sexto grado de Vernon Hills Hawthorn Middle School, Matthew Prigorenko y Carson Alper, seleccionaron el nombre Axel. La estudiante de jardín de infantes de la escuela primaria Millburn, Charlotte Regner, seleccionó el nombre Echo. Los cuatro estudiantes serán invitados a participar en la ceremonia de juramentación de K9 Echo & Axel a fines de junio, luego de completar la capacitación inicial.
El diputado Tyler Girmscheid se manejará Canine Echo y el diputado Kevin Gauer a Canine Axel. Los dos ayudantes y sus nuevos compañeros caninos están completando un intenso programa de entrenamiento inicial de ocho semanas en Tops K9 en Grayslake. El entrenamiento consiste en psicología canina, obediencia, agilidad, rastreo, detección de olores y más.
El alguacil Idleburg dijo: “¡Siempre disfrutamos involucrar a los jóvenes en varios aspectos de nuestra oficina y debo decir que los nombres que enviaron fueron fantásticos! Algunas de las presentaciones tenían un significado inspirador detrás de los nombres y algunas de las presentaciones nos hicieron reír. Esperamos que Ethan, Matthew, Carson y Charlotte se unan a nosotros en su ceremonia de juramentación”.
Caninos Axel y Echo se unen a sus otros compañeros caninos del alguacil Dax, Duke, Danno, Ryker y Boomer para llevar el número total de caninos del alguacil del condado de Lake a siete.
K’9 named by Lake County students
Sheriff John D. Idleburg and the Lake County Sheriff’s Canine Unit are excited to announce the names of the two newest sheriff’s canines. Between March 4 and March 25, 2022, Lake County’s Youth submitted their suggested names for the new canines. Nearly 400 kids submitted their preferred name for the canines.
The names selected for our two newest canines are Canine Axel and Canine Echo. Deerfield High School Sophomore Ethan Jacobs as well as Vernon Hills Hawthorn Middle School 6th Graders Matthew Prigorenko and Carson Alper selected the name Axel. Millburn Elementary School Kindergartener Charlotte Regner selected the name Echo. All four students will be invited to participate in K9 Echo & Axel’s swearing-in ceremony in late-June, following the completion of the initial training.
Deputy Tyler Girmscheid was partnered with Canine Echo and Deputy Kevin Gauer was partnered with Canine Axel. The two deputies and their new canine partners are completing an intense eight-week initial training program at Tops K9 in Grayslake. The training consists of canine psychology, obedience, agility, tracking, scent detection, and more.
Sheriff Idleburg said, “We always enjoy getting the youth involved in various aspects of our office and I have to say, the names they submitted were terrific! Some of the submissions had inspiring meaning behind the names and some of the submissions had us chuckling. We are looking forward to having Ethan, Matthew, Carson, and Charlotte join us at their swearing-in ceremony.”
Canines Axel and Echo join their other sheriff’s canine partners Dax, Duke, Danno, Ryker, and Boomer to bring the total number of Lake County Sheriff’s Canines to seven.
