Lake County, IL. – La Junta del Condado de Lake reeligió a Sandy Hart (Distrito 13) como su presidenta ya Mary Ross-Cunningham (Distrito 9) como su vicepresidenta en la reunión del 5 de diciembre.
Hart ha estado en la junta desde 2012 y se ha desempeñado como presidenta desde 2018. Su distrito incluye Lake Bluff y partes de Gurnee, North Chicago y Waukegan.
Vicepresidenta, Ross-Cunningham
La vicepresidenta Ross-Cunningham ha estado en la junta desde 2002 y se ha desempeñado como vicepresidente desde 2018. El Distrito 9 incluye partes de Waukegan y North Chicago. Se ha desempeñado como Presidenta de los Comités Jurídico y Judicial y de Diversidad e Inclusión de la Junta del Condado. Ross-Cunningham ha representado al condado de Lake a nivel nacional, sirviendo como representante del condado para la Asociación Nacional de Condados (NACo). Sus principales prioridades son el empleo y la vivienda asequible.
También en la reunión, los miembros de la junta del condado juraron oficialmente sus cargos. Además de los 16 miembros que regresan a la Junta del Condado de Lake, hay tres nuevos miembros. Están:
Adam Schlick (Distrito 2): Representa a Wauconda y partes de Hawthorn Woods, Mundelein, Round Lake y Round Lake Park.
Esiah Campos (Distrito 16): Representa a Round Lake Beach y Round Lake Heights, y partes de Round Lake y Round Lake Park.
Sara Knizhnik (Distrito 18): Representa partes de Buffalo Grove, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, Lake Zurich, Long Grove y Vernon Hills.
Hart and Cummingham get re-elected
The Lake County Board re-elected Sandy Hart (District 13) as its chair and Mary Ross-Cunningham (District 9) as its vice-chair at the December 5 meeting.
Hart has been on the board since 2012 and has served as the chair since 2018. Her district includes Lake Bluff and portions of Gurnee, North Chicago and Waukegan.
Vice-Chair, Ross-Cunningham
Vice-Chair Ross-Cunningham has been on the board since 2002 and has served as the vice-chair since 2018. District 9 includes portions of Waukegan and North Chicago. She has served as the Chair of the County Board’s Law and Judicial and the Diversity and Inclusion Committees. Ross-Cunningham has represented Lake County on the national level, serving as County’s representative for the National Association of Counties (NACo). Her main priorities are jobs and affordable housing.
Also at the meeting, county board members were officially sworn into office. In addition to 16 returning members to the Lake County Board, there are three new members. They are:
