Parolee Charged with Felony Burglary, Driving While Revoked, and Resisting Arrest

Lake County, IL. – In response to an uptick in burglaries to motor vehicles in the Beach Park / Unincorporated Waukegan areas, Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives conducted surveillance in an effort to locate and arrest the offender(s).
During the overnight hours of July 17th into the early morning hours of July 20th, Sheriff’s Detectives conducted surveillance at multiple locations. On July 18th, at approximately 3:00PM, David G. Walker, Sr., 57, of the 3700 block of Grand Avenue, Gurnee, was observed by detectives attempting to steal a skid-steer from a parking lot in the 35800 block of North Northern Avenue, Unincorporated Waukegan. Walker was unable to steal the skid-steer and left the area.
Burglaries Committed
On July 20th between approximately 1:30AM and 3:00AM, Walker was seen observed committing burglaries to vehicles at the following locations:
1500 block of Wilson Avenue, Waukegan
1400 block of North Avenue, Waukegan
1300 block of North Jackson Street, Waukegan
Walker then drove to a motel in the 600 block of North Green Bay Road, Waukegan, where Sheriff’s Detectives attempted to apprehend him. Walker attempted to flee and backed the vehicle he was driving (2005 Ford F150), striking the motel, in his attempt to flee.
Walker continued to resist arrest and was subsequently tased before being taken into custody. He was first transported to a local hospital after complaining of pain from being tased. He was then transported to the Lake County Jail.
