Mundelein, IL. – Officials of National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) recently announced the names of approximately 16,000 Commended Students in the 65th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $31 million that will be offered next spring.
Seven Mundelein High School seniors have attained Commended Students status and will remain in the competition towards the Finalist standing.
Representing MHS in the competition are Dillon Blake, Tyler Green, Derek Lee, Brandon Linane, Caitlyn Mathews, Bradley Rossbach and Luke Roswick.
To be considered for a Merit Scholarship® award, Commended Students must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition. About half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar® title.
