Mundelein, IL.- Los residentes interesados en aprender más sobre el Departamento de Policía de Mundelein y cómo funciona están invitados a participar en la Academia de Policía de Ciudadanos Latinos de Mundelein el 2 de abril de 2020 a las 7 p.m. Las clases se llevarán a cabo todos los jueves durante 8 semanas, culminando con una ceremonia de graduación el jueves 21 de mayo de 2020 a las 7 p.m. Las clases tendrán lugar en el Departamento de Policía de Mundelein, 221 North Lake Street, Mundelein, IL 60060. El Departamento de Policía ha ofrecido esta Academia de Policía para Ciudadanos Latinos desde 2013.
“La respuesta de nuestra comunidad latina ha sido abrumadora y crece cada vez que administramos el curso. La gente se aleja entendiendo que la policía de Mundelein está aquí para hacer que todos nuestros residentes se sientan seguros en nuestra comunidad “, dijo Eric Guenther, jefe de policía de Mundelein.
La Academia de Policía para Ciudadanos Latinos del Departamento de Policía de Mundelein ofrece una excelente oportunidad para que los ciudadanos, que viven y/o trabajan en o cerca de Mundelein y tienen entre 18 y 55 años de edad, se familiaricen con el día a día de operaciones del Departamento de Policía. El programa no solo consistirá en explicar y demostrar los diversos aspectos relacionados con la profesión policial, sino que también incluirá otros temas educativos relacionados con las leyes siempre cambiantes en lo que respecta a la población inmigrante. Tenga en cuenta que este programa será predominantemente en español.
El curso no pretende convertir a los ciudadanos en oficiales de policía, sino permitir que los ciudadanos aprendan más sobre las operaciones policiales. Los ciudadanos recibirán información sobre el papel real de la policía y, a cambio, la policía se beneficiará de la gran cantidad de conocimiento que los ciudadanos pueden dar sobre su comunidad.

Mundelein’s Latino Citizens’ Police Academy
Residents interested in learning more about the Mundelein Police Department and how it operates are invited to participate in Mundelein’s Latino Citizens’ Police Academy on April 2, 2020 at 7 p.m. Classes will run every Thursday for 8 weeks, culminating with a graduation ceremony on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 7 p.m. Classes will take place at the Mundelein Police Department, 221 North Lake Street, Mundelein, IL 60060. The Police Department has offered this Latino Citizens’ Police Academy since 2013.
“The response from our Latino community has been overwhelming, and grows each time we officer the course. People walk away understanding that the Mundelein Police are here to make all our residents feel safe in our community,” said Eric Guenther, Mundelein Police Chief.
The Mundelein Police Department’s Latino Citizens’ Police Academy provides an excellent opportunity for citizens, who live and/or work in or near the Village of Mundelein and are between the ages of 18 and 55 years of age, to become familiar with the day-to-day operations of the Police Department. The program will not only consist of explaining and demonstrating the various aspects related to the police profession, but will also include other educational topics related to the ever changing laws as they pertain to the immigrant population. Please be advised that this program will be predominately in Spanish.
The course is not intended to make citizens into police officers, but to allow citizens to learn more about police operations. Citizens will become informed as to the actual role of the police and in return, the police will benefit from the wealth of knowledge the citizens can give about their community.
