Waukegan, IL. – Avelira Rodríguez, de origen puertorriqueño, es la nueva directora del Campus Brookside del Distrito Escolar 60 de Waukegan, y en exclusiva para PF News dijo que tanto estudiantes, padres, líderes de la comunidad y como comerciantes, tendrán línea directa con ella para ayudar al fortalecimiento educativo de los alumnos.”
“Vamos a identificar los recursos para descifrar un plan para que los estudiantes y maestros se sientan apoyados a fin de maximizar su voz para lograr esa confianza y respaldo que necesitan”, dijo Rodríguez.
“Tendré conexión con la comunidad, con las asociaciones, iglesias, líderes comunitarios, centros comerciales, para romper esa barrera de la comunicación, pues por problemas del lenguaje hay temor de acercarse a la escuela, principalmente cuando las personas no hablan inglés.
Ahora, ese ya no será un problema, ni habrá terceras personas para comunicarse, “todas” las personas, sin importar su etnia, podrán tener esa línea directa para expresar sus ideas, opiniones, dudas, a fin de proveerles las oportunidades que necesitan y la validez que necesitan como parte del proceso de la educación que son”, aseguró la directora del Campus Brookside.
Enfatizó que en estos momentos se requiere de la ayuda de toda la comunidad para terminar con los problemas de seguridad y avanzar en la educación, y para ello se requiere tener a los estudiantes ocupados, y dentro de sus planes incluye un sitio para desarrollar los talentos de los jóvenes.
“Invito a las personas al diálogo, a aportar sus ideas, y juntos encontrar maneras de impulsar la educación que nuestros hijos necesitan, y si lo hacemos disfrutando de un taco, un cafecito, una baleada, será más interesante”, invitó la directora.
Avelira Rodríguez agregó que entre sus objetivos está el de utilizar su voz, pasión y su fórmula para jalar todos hacia adelante, haciendo hincapié que el fracaso no es opción.
