En días pasados me atreví a decir que las votaciones por correo no tendrían tanto éxito y esta semana los números oficiales que maneja la oficina electoral de la Secretaria del condado de Lake me dieron esa mala señal.
Pues ya si no, la gente estamos acostumbrados a votar en persona, al menos la gran mayoría y no creo que el Coronavirus vaya a impedir, que, al menos el que escribe estos renglones vaya a emitir el sufragio en persona.
Votar por correo es todo un teatro, miren ustedes el proceso, mis queridos tres o cuatro lectores, para empezar, tienen que solicitar la boleta por correo.
Luego, esperar a que llegue a su domicilio, y aclaro, que esto de votar por correo no es culpa de la oficina electoral, ellos son los que más están sufriendo para evitar el posible fraude electoral.
Dónde me quedé… si, en que luego de que la boleta llega a su casa, tiene que llenarla y no olvidar firmarla, porque si no lo hace, es muy posible que no tenga validez, pero es mejor que se comunique a los teléfonos que le indican en el sobre por si tiene dudas.
Ahora, todas las personas que quieran votar por correo tienen hasta las 5 de la tarde del 29 de octubre para pedir la boleta.
La fecha límite para recibir la boleta marcada con sus selecciones en la oficina de la Secretaria del Condado de Lake es el 3 de noviembre del 2020. Usted puede someter su boleta mediante entrega personal o por correo, portando un matasello postal que no exceda la fecha límite.
Y aquí viene un problema grande, si solicitó la boleta y no le llega, no se preocupe, llame por teléfono a la Secretaria del Condado, sólo cruce los dedos para que no haya muchas llamadas con el mismo u otro problema y le puedan dar seguimiento a su caso.
En otras palabras, y no quiero ser ave de mal agüero, vaya despidiéndose de su voto, es por ello que mejor el 3 de noviembre me formo en la fila, no importa hasta dónde llegue, mantengo mi distancia, me pongo mi cubrebocas, recojo mi boleta, la lleno, la pongo en la maquinita y me aseguro que el contador me indique que ya se registró mi voto.
Aunque si insiste en votar por correo tiene la opción de ir a llevarla en persona a una de las urnas, no tiene que tener el sello postal, simplemente se asegura de llenarla y firmarla.
Asegúrese de que en todo momento su boleta esté bajo su supervisión, no vaya a ser la de malas que le cae salsa o aguacate y la echen a perder, ahí sí, no sé cuál sea lo que proceda.
Aunque sin duda se la cambian, sólo llévela, manchada de aguacate y todo, al lugar de votación que le corresponda, la entrega y recibirá otra, ya después la marca como desea y la deposita en el contador, y se asegura que cuente.
A final de cuentas, y lo repito una y otra vez, lo importante es que salga a votar, no se quede en casa, es importante saber en manos de quién vamos a dejar el futuro de nuestras familias.

Endoso electoral
Y hablando del futuro de nuestras familias, hoy queremos darles a conocer nuestro humilde respaldo a dos candidatos, y a quienes recomendamos ampliamente para votar por ellos por considerarlos los indicados para el puesto.
En la legislatura de Illinos y para el cargo de Representante Estatal por el Distrito 62 que compete principalmente al área de Round Lake al candidato republicano Jim Welsh, un hombre sencillo, de buen corazón y comprometido a sacar adelante a la educación, es por ello que le damos nuestro voto y respaldo electoral.
Para el cargo de Secretaria de la Corte de Circuito a la actual titular del cargo, la demócrata Erin Cartwrigth, una persona dedicada a su trabajo y preocupada por el bienestar de la población.
Y para el puesto de Forense del Condado de Lake, al actual ocupante de ese puesto, el republicano Dr. Howard Cooper, una persona que tiene una labor muy difícil con la comunidad doliente, pero que tiene el tacto y la dedicación para tratar a la comunidad.

In the legislature of Illinos and for the position of State Representative for District 62 that corresponds mainly to the Round Lake area to the Republican candidate Jim Welsh, a good man, with a good heart and committed to advancing education, that is why We give him our vote and electoral support.
For the position of Clerk of the Circuit Court to the current incumbent, Democrat Erin Cartwright, a person dedicated to her work and concerned about the welfare of the population.
And for the Lake County Coroner position, the current occupant of that position, Republican Dr. Howard Cooper, a person who has a very difficult job with the grieving community, but who has the tact and dedication to treat the community.
