NEW VOTING DEVICES
NOVEMBER 3, 2026, GENERAL ELECTION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that new voting devices such as DS300 Poll Place Scanner and Tabulator, ExpressPoll Electronic Pollbook, DS950 High-Speed Scanner and Tabulator, and ExpressVote 3 Universal Voting System, will be utilized starting with the General Election on November 3, 2026, in Lake County. The purpose of these Election device upgrades is to better serve Lake County voters. These devices are supplied by Election Systems & Software, LLC (ES&S); a leading provider of election software products and services of exceptional quality and value. Early Voting locations will also be equipped with these new voting devices when Early Voting begins in the Lake County Main Courthouse on September 24, 2026, and at all other countywide Early Voting locations starting on October 19, 2026. Vote by Mail tabulation will also use this new equipment starting on September 24, 2026.

DS300 Poll Place Scanner and Tabulator provides advanced digital scanning technology with faster processing and printing speeds, enhanced security features, and innovative ballot imprinting for use in post-election audits. ExpressPoll Electronic Pollbook provides for the capability of securely transmitting unofficial results.

Furthermore, DS950 High-Speed Scanner and Tabulator is designed to process and tabulate Vote by Mail Ballots in the most effective and timely manner with advanced technology for ballot sorting and scanning, security software to reduce adjudication and protect voter data, and audit logs to track election processes for accuracy & accountability.

Lastly, ExpressVote 3 Universal Voting System is a fully ADA compliant voting solution with improved performance, accessibility and security. ExpressVote 3 is a multilingual system with visual aids including high contrast and zoom capabilities, as well as assist modes to ensure seamless and reliable voting experience for all. For additional security, ExpressVote 3 produces a voter-verifiable paper record saved for auditing purposes.

These new voting devices will be used for Vote by Mail; during Early Voting at Early Voting sites in Lake County starting September 24, 2026, through November 2, 2026; and extend to all polling sites on Election Day, November 3, 2026.
