Waukegan, Il. – El Distrito de Parques de Waukegan organizará la 26 edición anual del Festival de Arte y Música “Dandelion Wine” de Ray Bradbury el sábado 22 de agosto de 2026, de 12:00 p. m. a 6:00 p. m., en Bowen Park (ubicado en 1800 N. Sheridan Road, Waukegan). El festival rinde homenaje a Ray Bradbury a través del arte y la música. Artistas y vendedores —incluidos pintores, escultores y fotógrafos— ofrecerán sus obras a la venta.
Durante el evento, el programa “Arts Park” brindará a los asistentes la oportunidad de crear arte; el Museo Haines House, situado en Bowen Park, estará abierto para visitas autoguiadas gratuitas; y diversas organizaciones comunitarias ofrecerán obsequios y recursos locales. Habrá camiones de comida y vendedores en el lugar. El campo de golf Bonnie Brook estará a cargo de la venta de cerveza y vino para este evento.
Ray Bradbury, nacido en Waukegan el 22 de agosto de 1920, fue un autor y guionista destacado en los géneros de fantasía, ciencia ficción, terror y misterio. Algunas de sus obras más célebres, como “Dandelion Wine” (Vino de Diente de León), incorporan recuerdos y referencias a su ciudad natal, Waukegan. Ray Bradbury falleció el 5 de junio de 2012 y es homenajeado de diversas maneras en Waukegan.

Ray Bradbury’s Dandelion Festival
The Waukegan Park District will host the 26th Annual Ray Bradbury’s Dandelion Wine Arts & Music Festival on Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 12pm to 6pm at Bowen Park, located at 1800 N. Sheridan Road in Waukegan. The festival celebrates Ray Bradbury with arts and music. Art vendors, including painters, sculptors, and photographers, will have their art for sale.
During the festival, the Arts Park Program will give attendees the opportunity to create art, the Haines House Museum at Bowen Park will be open for free self-guided tours, and community organizations will provide free goodies and local resources. Food trucks and vendors will be on-site. Bonnie Brook Golf Course will be the beer and wine vendor for this event.
Ray Bradbury, born in Waukegan on August 22, 1920, was an author and screenwriter in fantasy, science fiction, horror, and mystery. Some of his most famous works like “Dandelion Wine,” include references to his hometown memories of Waukegan in them. Ray Bradbury passed away on June 5, 2012, and is honored in numerous ways in Waukegan.
