Round Lake, IL. – El 9 de octubre de 2021, aproximadamente a las 8:15 a. M., agentes del Sheriff del condado de Lake fueron enviados al lago Highland, 34481 North Circle Drive, en Round Lake, para un atender un reporte de un hombre de 42 años de Chicago que se metió en el lago pero que no salió a flote.
Los agentes llegaron y determinaron que el hombre de 42 años iba a llevar una canoa al medio del lago. Antes de que pudiera entrar en la canoa, la canoa comenzó a flotar alejándose de un muelle desde el que se estaba lanzando. El hombre saltó al agua para intentar recuperar la canoa, pero no resurgió después de entrar. El hombre no llevaba chaleco salvavidas.
Varias agencias de bomberos llegaron para buscar al hombre en el agua. Fue sacado del agua, inconsciente y transportado en ambulancia al Centro Médico Advocate Condell en Libertyville, en estado crítico.
Aunque no se sospecha de algo turbio, los detectives del alguacil están investigando.

Man Pulled from Highland Lake
On October 9, 2021, at approximately 8:15 a.m., Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Highland Lake, 34481 North Circle Drive, Unincorporated Round Lake, for a report of a 42-year-old man of Chicago who went into the lake but did not resurface.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived and determined the 42-year-old man was going to take a canoe into the middle of the lake.
Before he could get inside the canoe, the canoe started floating away from a pier he was launching from. The man jumped into the water to try and retrieve the canoe, but he did not resurface after getting in. The man was not wearing a life vest.
Multiple fire agencies arrived to search the water for the man. He was pulled from the water, unconscious, and transported via ambulance to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, in critical condition.
Although foul-play is not suspected, sheriff’s detectives are investigating.
