Una mujer de Antioch fue arrestada por realizar una llamada falsa al 911, denunciando falsamente que su exmarido había disparado y matado a sus hijos.
El 5 de septiembre de 2025, aproximadamente a la 1:20 p. m., el Centro de 911 de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Lake recibió una llamada de Theresa Kennedy, de 39 años, residente de la cuadra 25000 de West Jersey Drive, en Antioch.
Kennedy indicó que no estaba en casa, pero recibió una llamada telefónica de su hijo mayor, quien le informó que al llegar a casa encontró a sus hermanos menores muertos a tiros.
Kennedy declaró a los operadores que creía que su hijo mayor también había muerto a tiros, ya que el teléfono estaba desconectado y no podía contactarlo. Kennedy indicó que su exmarido podría ser responsable del hecho.
Los agentes del sheriff acudieron al lugar y no encontraron heridos ni muertos y determinaron que ambos niños estaban a salvo y en la escuela. Durante la investigación, determinaron que Kennedy hizo la extraña llamada al 911, ya que se encuentra en una disputa por la custodia con su exmarido. Se desconoce cómo consideró que hacer esta falsa declaración la beneficiaría a ella o a su situación.
Kennedy fue arrestada y trasladada a la Cárcel del Condado de Lake. Los agentes del sheriff notificaron al DCFS, y el padre de los niños llegó para hacerse cargo de la custodia de ambos.
Tras revisar los hechos y las circunstancias de la investigación, la Fiscalía del Estado del Condado de Lake aprobó el cargo de alteración del orden público (falsa denuncia al 911).
Woman Falsely Reported
An unincorporated Antioch woman was arrested for making a false 911 call, falsely reporting her ex-husband shot and killed her children.
On September 5, 2025, at approximately 1:20 p.m., the Lake County Sheriff’s Office 911 Center received a 911 call from Theresa Kennedy, 39, of the 25000 block of West Jersey Drive, unincorporated Antioch. Kennedy indicated she was not home, but received a telephone call from her eldest son, who reported to her that he arrived home to find his younger brother and sister shot and killed.
Kennedy went on to tell dispatchers that she thought her eldest son was also shot and killed, because the phone was disconnected and she could no longer reach him. Kennedy indicated her ex-husband might be responsible for the act.
Sheriff’s deputies rushed to the scene and found nobody injured or killed. Sheriff’s deputies determined both children were safe and in school. As they investigated, they determined Kennedy made the bizarre call to the 911 center, as she is in a custody dispute with her ex-husband. It is unknown how she felt making this false claim would be beneficial to her, or her situation.
Kennedy was arrested and transported to the Lake County Jail. Sheriff’s deputies notified DCFS, and the children’s father arrived to take custody of both kids.
After reviewing the facts and circumstances of the investigation, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the charge of felony disorderly conduct (making a false report to 911).
