On Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Route 12 and Old Rand Road in unincorporated Wauconda for a car versus pedestrian traffic crash. Sheriff’s deputies arrived and located a 39-year-old man from Arlington Heights who was critically injured, without a pulse. A sheriff’s deputy performed CPR on the man, and the man regained a pulse. He was transported via ambulance to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased in the emergency room.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office was notified and responded to the hospital.
The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Pablo Campuzano-Reynoso of Arlington Heights. On Thursday, August 8, 2024, an autopsy was conducted at the Lake County Coroner’s Office. Autopsy results indicate that Mr. Campuzano-Reynoso died from Blunt Force Injuries as a result of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team.
