Mundelein, IL.- El Distrito Escolar 75 de Mundelein organizará una Campaña Comunitaria de Donación de Sangre en la Oficina del Distrito, 470 N. Lake Street, Mundelein el próximo martes 18 de febrero de 1:00 pm a 7:00 pm.
Este es el segundo impulso de sangre que el distrito patrocina en honor de la maestra de Kindergarten Kristen Meister, a quien se le diagnosticó cáncer de colon en etapa 4 en agosto de 2018. Ese otoño, Meister recibió la buena noticia de que sus tomografías computarizadas mostraron rastros mínimos del cáncer después de 3 meses de tratamientos. Regresó a trabajar en enero de 2019. Su fuerza, resistencia y progreso notable en su viaje inspira a sus colegas hasta el día de hoy.

Todos los donantes potenciales recibirán un certificado de regalo de Colonial Cafe de $10 como agradecimiento por su dedicación para salvar vidas, hasta agotar existencias.
El año pasado, el impulso de sangre tuvo más de 80 donaciones de sangre, lo que se traduce en salvar 240 vidas. Cuando Meister se enteró de la gran cantidad de apoyo durante la campaña de donación de sangre del año pasado, comentó: “Estoy sorprendida de cuántos saldrán y llevarán su carga con usted. Fue un testimonio para nuestra comunidad. Fue gratificante ver a la gente tomarse el tiempo y hacer el sacrificio para venir y ayudar”.
District 75 Hosts Blood Drive
On Tuesday, February 18th from 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Mundelein School District 75 will be hosting a Community Blood Drive at the District Office, 470 N. Lake Street, Mundelein.
This is the second blood drive the district is sponsoring in honor of Kindergarten teacher Kristen Meister, who was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in August 2018. That fall, Meister received the good news that her CT scans showed minimal traces of the cancer after 3 months of treatments. She returned to work in January 2019. Her strength, resilience and remarkable progress through her journey inspires her colleagues to this day.

All attempting donors will receive a $10 Colonial Cafe gift certificate as a thank you for your dedication to saving lives — while supplies last.
Last year, the blood drive had more than 80 blood donations, which translates to saving 240 lives. When Meister learned of the outpouring of support during last year’s blood drive, she commented, “I’m amazed by how many will come out and carry your burden with you. It was such a testimonial to our community. It was gratifying to see people take the time and make the sacrifice to come and help.”
