Waukegan, IL. – Waukegan Public Schools, in partnership with Waukegan Park District, will be hosting its first-ever WPS Health Fair, February 12, where community members can learn more about wide range of health services available to them.
The event, which is open to all WPS families, will be held at the Waukegan Field House, beginning at 6 p.m. on February 12 and feature a number of community health organizations providing a variety of services ranging from dental screenings to chiropractic adjustments.
The event aims to help give WPS families access to a broad range of health services, and vendors representing various field of medicine have been recruited including, but not limited to:
• Rosalind Franklin University, who will be providing blood sugar readings
• The Waukegan Fire Department, who will be offering blood pressure checks
• Lakes Behavioral Health will be in attendance, providing multiple mental health services and resources
• The Sickle Cell Disease Association of Illinois, who will be providing resources for Sickle Cell Disease, a red blood cell disorder affecting people of color
• Dr. Mike Reed of Family Chiropractic and Sports Rehab will be on hand to perform body adjustments
• The Harbor Lites Chapter of The Links Inc. who will be providing dental screenings
• L.A. Fitness will offer free Zumba classes
In addition to providing services, representatives from each of these agencies will be on hand to answer questions as it pertains to their field of expertise.

Feria de Salud del Distrito
Las Escuelas Públicas de Waukegan, en asociación con el Distrito de Parques de Waukegan, organizarán su primera Feria de Salud de WPS, el 12 de febrero, donde los miembros de la comunidad pueden aprender más sobre la amplia gama de servicios de salud disponibles para ellos.
El evento, que está abierto a todas las familias de WPS, se llevará a cabo en el Waukegan Field House, a partir de las 6 p.m. el 12 de febrero y se presentaran una serie de organizaciones de salud comunitaria que brindan una variedad de servicios desde exámenes dentales hasta ajustes quiroprácticos.
El evento tiene como objetivo ayudar a que las familias de WPS tengan acceso a una amplia gama de servicios de salud, y se han reclutado proveedores que representan diversas áreas de la medicina, entre los que se incluyen, entre otros:

• El Departamento de Bomberos de Waukegan, que ofrecerá exámenes de presión sanguínea

• La Asociación de Enfermedades de Células Falciformes de Illinois, que brindará recursos para la enfermedad de Células Falciformes, un trastorno de los glóbulos rojos que afecta a las personas de color.
