Grayslake, IL – Teniendo como marco el Mes de la Herencia Hispana, Anthony Vega, actual Jefe de Personal de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Lake, anuncia su postulación en las elecciones Primarias Demócratas para el Secretario del Condado de Lake.
Como Jefe de Personal del Sheriff, Anthony ha sido fundamental en los logros de la administración del Sheriff John D. Idleburg.
Se cataloga como un líder en la promoción de reformas con visión de futuro en la Oficina del Sheriff, que incluyen: la creación de un Centro de Bienestar del Condado de Lake, asegurando las salvaguardias adecuadas para el acceso de los votantes de la población carcelaria y asegurando $1.4 millones en subvenciones para el Condado de Lake a través de su liderazgo en representación y participación del Sheriff’s en la oficina del Desafío de Justicia y Seguridad de la Fundación MacArthur.
Anthony Vega tiene experiencia en la gestión de una gran oficina gubernamental, gestión de proyectos, elaboración de presupuestos, promoción y organización comunitaria.
Anthony, nacido y criado en Chicago de padres inmigrantes, recibió su B.A. en Ciencias Políticas de la Universidad de Bellarmine y su Maestría en Políticas Públicas de la Universidad Loyola de Chicago.

He arraigado mi carrera en la organización, la educación y el empoderamiento de esas voces para que trabajen para hacer de nuestra sociedad una sociedad justa.
Estamos en una coyuntura crítica en esta oficina. El compromiso cívico es clave para salvar nuestra democracia de aquellos que desean socavar nuestras instituciones y valores democráticos.
El puesto de Secretario del Condado juega un papel fundamental en la protección de los votantes y el compromiso cívico, y ahora también debe liderar la fusión con la Oficina del Registro de Escrituras. Anthony Vega for Lake County Clerk
On the heels of Hispanic Heritage Month, Anthony Vega, who serves as Chief of Staff to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, announces his campaign in the Democratic Primary for Lake County Clerk.
As Chief of Staff to the Sheriff, Anthony has been instrumental in the achievements of Sheriff John D. Idleburg’s administration. He has been a leader in advocating for forward thinking reforms in the Sheriff’s Office, including: creation of a Lake County Wellness Center, ensuring proper safeguards for jail population voter access, and securing $1.4 million in grants for Lake County through his leadership representing the Sheriff’s Office participation in the MacArthur Foundation Safety and Justice Challenge.
Anthony Vega has experience in managing a large government office, project management, budgeting, advocacy, and community organizing. Born and raised in Chicago to immigrant parents, Anthony received his B.A. in Political Science from Bellarmine University and his Master’s in Public Policy from Loyola University Chicago.
“As a son of immigrant parents from a union household, I learned at a young age the importance of serving the community – to give back and give a voice to those who have been historically underserved. I’ve rooted my career in organizing, educating and empowering those voices to work towards making our society a just one.
We are at a critical juncture in this office. Civic engagement is key to saving our Democracy from those that wish to undermine our democratic institutions and values. The position of County Clerk plays an instrumental role in voter protection and civic engagement, and now must also lead the merger with the Recorder of Deeds Office. We need someone ethical who can actually meet the urgency of the moment. Someone that will fight. I have been fighting my whole life and I am ready for the challenge to serve as Lake County Clerk,” said Anthony Vega.
