Waukegan, IL. -On Sunday, July 7, 2024, at approximately 3:40 a.m., the Waukegan Police Department and Waukegan Fire Department responded to the Waukegan Metra Station, 95 North Spring Street, for a reported shooting. Officers arrived and reported finding a victim who had been shot in the parking lot. Paramedics arrived and confirmed the victim was dead at the scene.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office was notified and responded to the scene.
The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Xzavier Booker, most recently of Zion. On Monday, July 8, 2024, an autopsy was conducted at the Lake County Coroner’s Office. Autopsy results indicate that Mr. Booker died from multiple gunshot wounds. The incident remains under investigation by the Waukegan Police Department.
