Waukegan, IL. – Sheriff John Idleburg announces the Lake County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a Citizens Police Academy, which will begin on March 14, 2019, and run until May 23rd. Classes will be held at the Sheriff’s Office Headquarters in Waukegan and sub-station in Libertyville.
The Citizens Police Academy is open to all Lake County residents aged 18 or older, of good moral character and no felony convictions. The is a free course and applicants will get an in-depth view of all Sheriff’s Office responsibilities, including Corrections, Highway Patrol, Court Security, Criminal Investigations, Crash Investigations, Evidence Processing, and more. The application deadline is March 7, 2019.
