Lake County, IL. – Esta semana, los investigadores de accidentes del alguacil del condado de Lake incautaron un vehículo que se cree que golpeó y mató a Wojciech Glowik, el pasado 9 de octubre en la cuadra 200 de la Ruta 45 en Indian Creek. El Audi Q5 2014 estaba ubicado en un taller de carrocería en Wheeling.
El personal de alerta en el taller de carrocería vio publicaciones en las redes sociales e informes de los medios tradicionales sobre el vehículo y dónde estaría el daño probable. Después de ver el daño en el Audi Q5, los empleados creyeron que probablemente era el vehículo involucrado en el fatal accidente de atropello y fuga. Luego se comunicaron con la Oficina del Sheriff del condado de Lake.
Los investigadores de accidentes del alguacil del condado de Lake respondieron al taller de carrocería y encontraron que el daño era, de hecho, consistente con el vehículo que huyó, ya que las piezas dejadas en la escena coincidían con el vehículo en el taller de carrocería. El vehículo está ahora bajo la custodia de la Oficina del Sheriff, donde los investigadores de accidentes de tráfico lo han estado procesando como evidencia.

Offending Vehicle Located
This week, Lake County Sheriff’s Crash Investigators seized a vehicle believed to have struck and killed Wojciech Glowik. The 2014 Audi Q5 was located at a body shop in Wheeling.
Alert staff at the body shop saw social media posts and traditional media reports regarding the vehicle and where the likely damage would be. After seeing the damage on the Audi Q5, the employees believed it was likely the vehicle involved in the fatal hit-and-run crash. They then contacted the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Lake County Sheriff’s Crash Investigators responded to the body shop and found the damage was indeed consistent with the vehicle that fled, as pieces left at the scene matched the vehicle in the body shop. The vehicle is now in the custody of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, where traffic crash investigators have been processing it for evidence.
Sheriff John D. Idleburg commented, “I am incredibly thankful for the alert and honest staff at the auto repair shop. They played an integral role in us being able to process the vehicle for evidence and advance our investigation. Our condolences go out to the friends and family of Mr. Glowik and we will do everything in our power to seek justice in this case.” The investigation continues at this time.
