Beach Park, IL. – Detectives del Sheriff del condado de Lake investigan un robo a mano armada que ocurrió en una tienda de Beach Park el sábado pasado.
El 20 de abril de 2024, aproximadamente a las 11:35 a.m., agentes del sheriff acudieron a una tienda de conveniencia en la cuadra 37700 de North Green Bay Road por un robo a mano armada que acababa de ocurrir. Los agentes llegaron y hablaron con el empleado de la tienda, que resultó ileso.
La investigación preliminar muestra que un hombre, posiblemente de ascendencia hispana, que cubría la cara, vestía un abrigo amarillo, pantalones color canela y guantes, entró a la tienda y mostró un arma de fuego. Exigió dinero al dependiente de la tienda. El delincuente salió corriendo de la tienda después de obtener dinero en efectivo de la caja registradora.
Un equipo K9 del Sheriff del condado de Lake respondió y rastreó el olor del hombre; sin embargo, el olor terminó en el callejón sin salida de una carretera, lo que indica que el delincuente probablemente entró en un vehículo. Los técnicos de pruebas del sheriff recuperaron pruebas que se enviarán al laboratorio decriminalística para su análisis.

Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a Beach Park convenience store on Saturday.
On April 20, 2024, at approximately 11:35 a.m., Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a convenience store in the 37700 block of North Green Bay Road for an armed robbery that just occurred. Sheriff’s deputies arrived and spoke to the store clerk, who was uninjured.
Preliminary investigation shows a man, possibly of Hispanic descent, wearing a face covering, yellow coat, tan pants, and gloves, entered the store and displayed a firearm. He demanded money from the store clerk. The offender ran from the store after obtaining cash from the clerk’s register.
A Lake County Sheriff’s K9 Team responded and tracked the scent of the man, however, the scent ended at the dead end of a roadway, indicating the offender likely entered a vehicle. Sheriff’s evidence technicians recovered evidence that will be sent to the crime lab for analysis.
The armed robbery remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division.
