Detectives y perros en dispositivos electrónicos dieron con el paradero del sospechoso.

Zion, IL. – Detectives del Sheriff del Condado de Lake arrestaron a un hombre de Zion por posesión de numerosas imágenes y videos de pornografía infantil, muchos de ellos relacionados con menores de 13 años.
Los detectives del Sheriff del Condado de Lake recibieron una pista de un sitio web de almacenamiento en la nube que indicaba que un dispositivo del Condado de Lake había subido pornografía infantil a su plataforma. El detective del Sheriff inició una investigación y, con base en ella, determinó que la fuente probable provenía de una residencia ubicada en la cuadra 3000 de la Avenida Gabriel, Zion.
Los detectives del Sheriff obtuvieron una orden de registro para la residencia y la llevaron a cabo con la Oficina del Fiscal General de Illinois el 8 de julio de 2025. Los perros de detección electrónica, Grip de la Fiscalía Estatal del Condado de Lake y Enzo, del Sheriff colaboraron en la búsqueda.
Durante la búsqueda, los detectives incautaron dispositivos electrónicos que contenían pornografía infantil, pertenecientes a Sergio Guillén, de 23 años, residente de la misma casa. Tras revisar los hechos y las circunstancias de la investigación, la Fiscalía Estatal del Condado de Lake aprobó tres cargos de posesión de pornografía infantil. Es posible que se presenten cargos adicionales.
El sheriff John D. Idleburg declaró: “Gracias a los incansables esfuerzos de nuestra Unidad de Delitos Cibernéticos, se ha identificado y arrestado a otro depredador infantil. Este tipo de arrestos pone de relieve la amenaza constante que estos delincuentes representan para los niños y la importancia de mantenerse alerta. Nuestro equipo trabaja incansablemente para proteger a los niños, pero la prevención empieza en casa. Por favor, conversen regularmente con sus hijos sobre los peligros de compartir información personal o contenido inapropiado en línea”.
La Fiscalía Estatal del Condado de Lake presentó una solicitud para detener a Guillén en espera de juicio. En su primera comparecencia ante el tribunal, se ordenó que Guillén permaneciera recluido en la Cárcel del Condado de Lake a la espera de una audiencia de detención. Todos los acusados se presumen inocentes a menos que se demuestre su culpabilidad en un tribunal.
Zion man arrested
Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested a Zion man for possessing numerous images and videos of child pornography, many involving children under the age of 13.
Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives received a tip from an online cloud storage website indicating a device in Lake County uploaded child pornography to their platform. Sheriff’s detective began an investigation and based on that investigation determined the likely source was coming from a residence in the 3000 block of Gabriel Avenue, Zion.
Sheriff’s detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence and conducted that search warrant with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office on July 8, 2025. Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office Electronic Detection K9 Grip and Sheriff’s Electronic Detection K9 Enzo assisted with the search. During their search, detectives seized electronics that contained child pornography, belonging to Sergio Guillen, 23, of the same residence.
After reviewing the facts and circumstances of the investigation, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the charges of three counts of possessing child pornography. Additional charges are possible.
Sheriff John D. Idleburg said, “Thanks to the relentless efforts of our Cyber Crimes Unit, another child predator has been identified and arrested. These types of arrests highlight the ongoing threat these offenders pose to children and the importance of staying vigilant. Our team works tirelessly to protect kids, but prevention starts at home. Please have regular conversations with your children about the dangers of sharing personal information or inappropriate content online.”
The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a petition to detain Guillen while awaiting trial. At his first court appearance this morning, Guillen was ordered to be held in the Lake County Jail pending a detention hearing tomorrow afternoon. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
