Huntley, IL. – El sábado 3 de mayo de 2025, aproximadamente a las 4:30 p.m., la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de McHenry y el Distrito de Protección contra Incendios de Huntley acudieron a la zona de la Ruta 47 y Foster Road, en Huntley, tras recibir un informe de un accidente vehicular con heridos. Los servicios de emergencia llegaron y localizaron cinco vehículos involucrados en el accidente.
Una pasajera de uno de los vehículos involucrados resultó gravemente herida y fue trasladada en helicóptero médico al Centro Médico Advocate Condell en Libertyville. Permaneció en la unidad de cuidados intensivos hasta que falleció a causa de sus heridas y fue declarada fallecida el martes 6 de mayo de 2025.
Se notificó a la Oficina del Forense del Condado de Lake.
La fallecida fue identificada como Araceli Almarada-Mondragón, de 55 años, residente de Pingree Grove. La investigación preliminar del forense indica que Almarada-Mondragón falleció por complicaciones de lesiones por objeto contundente como consecuencia del accidente. El accidente continúa bajo investigación por la Unidad de Investigación de Accidentes de Tráfico Graves de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de McHenry.

Huntley Traffic Crash Death
On Saturday, May 3, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and Huntley Fire Protection District responded to the area of Route 47 and Foster Road in unincorporated Huntley for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries. Emergency responders arrived and located five vehicles that had been involved in the crash.
A passenger in one of the vehicles involved was seriously injured and transported by medical helicopter to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She remained in the intensive care unit until she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office was notified.
The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Araceli Almarada-Mondragon, of Pingree Grove. Preliminary coroner’s investigation indicate that Ms. Almarada-Mondragon died from complications of blunt force injuries as a result of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Traffic Crash Investigation Unit.
