Antioch, IL. – Muere conductor de 72 años al volcar su camión en este municipio, informa el Sheriff del Condado de Lake.
El pasado 30 de noviembre, al filo de la media noche, agentes del Sheriff del Condado de Lake fueron enviados a la Ruta 173 y Converse Road en Antioch Township, por un accidente de tráfico con lesiones.
Los uniformados llegaron y localizaron un semirremolque Peterbilt modelo 1990 con remolque Trinity que estaba tirando (cargado con aproximadamente 25 toneladas de lodo granular) con severos daños.
La investigación preliminar indica que el conductor del Peterbilt, un hombre de 72 años de Woodstock, viajaba hacia el oeste y comenzó a virar hacia la izquierda por una razón desconocida.
El Peterbilt cruzó hacia los carriles en dirección este y chocó contra una barandilla en el lado sur de la carretera. El Peterbilt continuó hacia el oeste y el remolque rodó, derramando su carga. El camión y el remolque se hundieron parcialmente.
Los paramédicos sacaron al conductor de la cabina y lo trasladaron al Centro Médico del Norte de Illinois en McHenry, donde más tarde fue declarado fallecido.
La oficina forense del condado de McHenry está en proceso de programar una autopsia.

Driver dies when his truck overturns
72-year-old driver dies when his truck overturns in this municipality, reports the Lake County Sheriff.
On November 30, 2020, at approximately 12:00PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Route 173 and Converse Road, Antioch Township, for a traffic crash with injuries. Sheriff’s deputies arrived and located a 1990 Peterbilt Semi-truck and a Trinity trailer it was pulling (loaded with approximately 25 tons of granular sludge) with major damage.
Preliminary investigation shows the driver of the Peterbilt, a 72-year-old male of Woodstock, was traveling westbound and began veering to the left for an unknown reason. The Peterbilt crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a guardrail on the south side of the roadway. The Peterbilt continued west and the trailer rolled, spilling its load. The truck and trailer partially jackknifed.
The driver was extricated from the cab by paramedics and was transported to the Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry, where he later was pronounced deceased.
The McHenry County Coroner’s Office is in the process of scheduling an autopsy.
