Mundelein IL. – El 9 de enero de 2022, aproximadamente a las 10:50 p. m., agentes del alguacil del condado de Lake respondieron al área de la ruta 60/83 y Taylor Lake Court, Mundelein, por un accidente de tráfico entre vehículos y peatón. Los agentes llegaron y encontraron a un peatón sin vida, un hombre de 42 años de edad de Mundelein.
La investigación preliminar muestra que el peatón, que vestía ropa oscura y sin contraste, salía de un bar en el área y probablemente caminaba hacia su casa. Por una razón desconocida, el peatón se acostó en el carril sur de la Ruta 60/83.
Un Honda Accord en dirección sur, conducido por un hombre de Mundelein de 21 años, golpeó al peatón, posteriormente, un Nissan Murano en dirección sur, conducido por un hombre de Volo de 34 años, también golpeó al peatón.
Los conductores de Honda y Nissan resultaron ilesos.
La oficina del forense del condado de Lake respondió a la escena e identificó al atropellado como Brett Mild, de 42 años, de Mundelein. La autopsia está programada para el martes 11 de enero de 2022.

Fatal Traffic Crash Involving Pedestrian
On January 9, 2022, at approximately 10:50 p.m., Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Route 60/83 and Taylor Lake Court, Unincorporated Mundelein, for a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic crash. Sheriff’s deputies arrived and found the pedestrian, a 42-year-old man of Unincorporated Mundelein, deceased.
Preliminary investigation shows the pedestrian, who was wearing dark, non-contrasting clothing, just left a bar in the area and was likely walking home. For an unknown reason, the pedestrian laid down in the southbound lane of Route 60/83. A southbound Honda Accord, driven by a 21-year-old man of Mundelein struck the pedestrian. Soon after, a southbound Nissan Murano, driven by a 34-year-old man of Volo also struck the pedestrian. The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Brett Mild of unincorporated Mundelein. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, January 11, 2022.
The drivers of the Honda and Nissan were uninjured.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and are in the process of scheduling an autopsy.
Sheriff’s crash investigators responded and are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit and Lake County Coroner’s Office.
