Why did you join the Auxiliary Unit? I joined the unit in January of 2017. I thought it would be a good stepping stone into a law enforcement career and also thought it was a good way to volunteer my time within the community.
What’s your favorite memory or favorite thing about the unit? My favorite memory has always been Shop with a Cop. I absolutely love the event! It’s one of the best things we can do for those in need, especially for the kids during the holidays!
What do you do in the unit? I’m just your aververge Auxiliary Deputy! You’ll find me directing traffic at events and all over town especially during the summer months.
What’s your “real” job? I am a courier with FedEx Express and I also serve in the Illinois Army National Guard as an 88M. I will be completing my service this September. I left the unit in April 2019 due to being a Correctional officer with another county. When I left my job as a CO I immediately came back to the Lake County Sheriff’s Auxiliary Unit. It is my home and my family. I wouldn’t trade the patch on my shoulder for any other. I am also an avid outdoorsman.
