Lake County, IL. - On May 28, 2020, members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service – Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF), concluded an investigation which resulted in the apprehension of Tod W. Harig, 32, of the 2400 block of Plum Tree Road, Lindenhurst.
On May 27, 2020, Lindenhurst Police Officers obtained an arrest warrant for Harig on the charges of child abduction and domestic battery ($250,000.00 bond). This followed an incident where Harig battered and choked an adult household member. Harig then took a minor child, who he is the father of and fled from the residence, in violation of a court order.
During the fugitive apprehension investigation, Lindenhurst Police Officers developed information Harig was possibly avoiding apprehension by hiding at a family member’s residence in Lone Rock, Wisconsin.
Further investigation revealed Harig was staying at a residence in the 33600 block of Yeager Lane, Lone Rock, WI. The sheriff’s warrants team contacted USMS-Madison and requested assistance in the apprehension of Harig. USMS-Madison successfully apprehended Harig, without incident at his family’s home. He was transported to the Richland County, WI, jail pending extradition hearings.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
