Green Oaks, IL. -Un oficial del sheriff del condado de Lake salvó la vida de un motociclista involucrado en un accidente de tráfico.
El 24 de junio de 2023, aproximadamente a las 3:40 p. m., agentes del alguacil respondieron a la ruta 176 y la avenida Bayonne, Green Oaks, por un accidente de tránsito que involucró a una camioneta Ford Transit y una motocicleta Harley-Davidson. El oficial Dwight Arrowood observó al conductor de la motocicleta, un hombre de Skokie de 55 años, con una herida importante en la pierna y sangraba significativamente. Arrowood aplicó un torniquete en la pierna del motociclista para detener el sangrado.
La investigación preliminar muestra que la conductora del Ford, una mujer de 58 años de Gurnee, viajaba hacia el este por la Ruta 176. Intentó girar a la izquierda en Bayonne Avenue hacia el norte, directamente en el camino de la Harley-Davidson hacia el oeste. La Harley-Davidson golpeó al Ford y el conductor de la motocicleta salió disparado de la motocicleta.
El conductor de la motocicleta fue transportado al Centro Médico Abogado Condell con heridas graves. El conductor del Ford y su pasajero de 26 años resultaron ilesos.
El accidente sigue siendo investigado por el Equipo Técnico de Investigaciones de Accidentes de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Lake.
Serious motorcycle-Van Crash
A Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy saved the life of a motorcyclist involved in a traffic crash.
On June 24, 2023, at approximately 3:40 p.m., Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Route 176 and Bayonne Avenue, Green Oaks, for a traffic crash involving a Ford Transit Van and Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. Deputy Dwight Arrowood observed the operator of the motorcycle, a 55-year-old man of Skokie, with a major leg wound, and he was bleeding significantly. Deputy Arrowood applied a tourniquet on the motorcyclist’s leg to stop the bleeding.
Preliminary investigation shows the driver of the Ford, a 58-year-old woman of Gurnee, was traveling eastbound on Route 176. She attempted to make a left turn onto northbound Bayonne Avenue, directly in the path of the westbound Harley-Davidson. The Harley-Davidson struck the Ford, and the operator of the motorcycle was thrown from the motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center with critical injuries. The driver of the Ford and her 26-year-old passenger were uninjured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team.
