Fatal Fremont Township Traffic Crash

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Fremont, IL. – On June 21, 2019, at approximately 12:05PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Wilson Road and Route 60, Fremont Township, for a traffic crash with injuries. Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and found two vehicles with heavy damage.
Preliminary investigation shows a 2005 Dodge Neon, driven by an 89-year-old female of Fox Lake, was traveling southbound on Wilson Road. The driver stopped at the stop sign and attempted to make a left turn onto eastbound Route 60. The driver turned in the path of a westbound 2018 Kia Forte driven by a 28-year-old male of Lake in the Hills. There is no stop sign for traffic on Route 60. The driver of the Kia was unable to avoid striking the Dodge, and the front of the Kia struck the driver’s side of the Dodge.
