El conductor del Range Rover hizo un giro en U, invadió el carril derecho, donde la motocicleta chocó y el conductor perdió la vida.

North Chicago, IL. – Muere en la sala de emergencias, luego de chocar con una camioneta que invadió el carril. El Departamento de Policía de North Chicago acudió a la Ruta 41 al sur de Brompton Avenue por un accidente automovilístico que involucró a una motocicleta, el viernes 10 de noviembre de 2023, a las 3:37 p.m.
La investigación preliminar reveló que un Range Rover 2020 hizo un giro en U cerca de 3200 Skokie Valley Highway. Al mismo tiempo, un hombre de 36 años conducía una motocicleta Honda Sport modelo 2017 hacia el sur por el carril derecho. Cuando el conductor del Range Rover hizo el giro en U, invadió el carril derecho, donde la motocicleta chocó con la parte trasera del Range Rover. El motociclista fue transportado al Hospital Lake Forest, donde fue declarado muerto en la sala de emergencias.
Según la gravedad del incidente, se solicitó al Equipo de Asistencia en Accidentes Mayores (MCAT, por sus siglas en inglés) del Condado de Lake que ayudara con la investigación del accidente. Se notificó a la oficina forense del condado de Lake.
El fallecido ha sido identificado positivamente como David Drower de Wheeling, de 36 años. El lunes 13 de noviembre de 2023 se realizó una autopsia en la oficina forense del condado de Lake. Los resultados preliminares de la autopsia indican que Drower murió a causa de las heridas contundentes sufridas como resultado del accidente.
El accidente sigue bajo investigación por parte del Departamento de Policía de North Chicago y MCAT.
Fatal North Chicago motorcycle crash
On Friday, November 10, 2023, at 3:37 pm, the North Chicago Police Department responded to Route 41 south of Brompton Avenue for a vehicle crash involving a motorcycle. Preliminary investigation revealed a 2020 Range Rover made a U-turn near 3200 Skokie Valley Highway. At the same time, a 36-year-old male was operating a 2017 Honda Sport motorcycle south in the right lane. As the driver of the Range Rover made the U-turn, he drove into the right lane, where the motorcycle collided with the back of the Range Rover. The motorcyclist was transported to Lake Forest Hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room.
Based on the severity of the incident, the Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) of Lake County was requested to assist with the crash investigation. The Lake County Coroner’s Office was notified.
The deceased has been positively identified as 36-year-old David Drower of Wheeling. On Monday, November 13, 2023 an autopsy was conducted at the Lake County Coroner’s Office. Preliminary autopsy results indicate that Mr. Drower died from blunt force injuries suffered as a result of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Chicago Police Department and MCAT.
