Round Lake, IL. – Investigación criminal concluye con el arresto de un sujeto que solicitó actos indecentes a una menor, informó la oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Lake.
El Grupo de Investigaciones Especiales de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Lake, en colaboración con el Servicio de Investigación Criminal Naval (NCIS, por sus siglas en inglés), concluyeron la investigación el pasado 22 de noviembre.
Durante el mes de noviembre, Julio Rojas, de 61 años, de la cuadra 1800 de Tomahawk Trail, Round Lake Heights, comenzó a comunicarse en línea con detectives encubiertos, haciéndose pasar por una niña menor de 15 años. Durante su conversación, Rojas indicó que estaba en un ‘viaje de negocios’ pero quería reunirse con la ‘niña’ para participar en actos sexuales.
Rojas acordó reunirse con la ‘niña’ el 22 de noviembre de 2022 en un lugar del condado de Lake. Cuando llegó al lugar para participar en los actos sexuales con la menor, fue arrestado por detectives.
La Oficina del Fiscal del Estado del Condado de Lake aprobó dos cargos de solicitación indecente de un niño y viajar para encontrarse con un menor.
Rojas permanece detenido en la Cárcel del Condado de Lake con una fianza de $200,000.00. Su próxima comparecencia ante el tribunal será el 20 de diciembre de 2022 a la 1:30 p.m.
El Sheriff John D. Idleburg dijo: “Si bien siempre utilizaremos todos nuestros recursos para investigar y arrestar a quienes se aprovechan de nuestros más vulnerables, sigue siendo muy importante que los padres entiendan que hay depredadores que se aprovechan de nuestros hijos. Inspeccione los dispositivos electrónicos de su hijo para ver con quién se está comunicando y qué está diciendo”. Todos los acusados se presumen inocentes a menos que se pruebe su culpabilidad en un tribunal de justicia.
Man charged with indecent solicitation
On November 22, 2022, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Group in collaboration with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) concluded an investigation which resulted in the arrest of a man for the offense indecent solicitation of a child.
During the month of November, Julio Rojas, 61, of the 1800 block of Tomahawk Trail, Round Lake Heights, began communicating online with undercover detectives, posing as a girl under the age of 15. During their conversation, Rojas indicated he was in the area on a ‘business trip’ but wanted to meet with the ‘child’ to engage in sexual acts.
Rojas agreed to meet the ‘child’ on November 22, 2022 at a location in Lake County. When he arrived at the location to engage in the sexual acts with the child, he was arrested by detectives.
The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the charges of two counts of indecent solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a minor.
Rojas remains held in the Lake County Jail on $200,000.00 bail. He is next due in court on December 20, 2022, at 1:30 p.m.
Sheriff John D. Idleburg said, “While we will always use all of our resources to investigate and arrest those who prey on our most vulnerable, it is still very important for parents to understand there are predators out there who prey on our children. Please inspect your child’s electronic devices to see who they are communicating with and what they are saying.” All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
