Lake County, IL. – El 2 de marzo de 2022, aproximadamente a las 6:20
p. m., los agentes del sheriff del condado de Lake respondieron a la ruta 83 al sur de Winchester Road, municipio de Fremont, por un choque de tráfico frontal. Los agentes del sheriff llegaron y localizaron dos vehículos con graves daños.
La investigación preliminar muestra que un BMW 435i, conducido por una mujer de 55 años de Round Lake, viajaba hacia el sur por la Ruta 83, al sur de Winchester Road.
Por una razón desconocida, la conductora del BMW cruzó las líneas amarillas dobles hacia los carriles de tráfico en dirección norte. El BWM golpeó de frente a un Chevrolet Silverado en dirección norte, conducido por un hombre de 58 años de Mundelein.
Los conductores eran los únicos ocupantes de ambos vehículos. Ambos fueron transportados al Centro Médico Advocate Condell en Libertyville. El conductor del BMW sufrió lesiones potencialmente mortales y el conductor del Chevrolet sufrió lesiones graves, pero no mortales.
El accidente sigue siendo investigado por la Unidad Técnica de Investigaciones de Accidentes de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Lake.
Serious Head-On Traffic Crash
On March 2, 2022, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Route 83 south of Winchester Road, Fremont Township, for a head-on traffic crash. Sheriff’s deputies arrived and located two vehicles with heavy damage.
Preliminary investigation shows a BMW 435i, driven by a 55-year-old woman of Round Lake, was traveling southbound on Route 83, south of Winchester Road. For an unknown reason, the driver of the BMW crossed the double yellow lines into the northbound lanes of traffic. The BWM struck a northbound Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 58-year-old man of unincorporated Mundelein, head-on.
The drivers were the sole occupants of both vehicles. Both were transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. The driver of the BMW sustained life-threatening injuries and the driver of the Chevrolet sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
