Lake County, IL. – La Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Lake les recuerda a los aficionados al futbol americano y a quienes asistan a fiestas del Super Bowl que los conductores designados son la mejor defensa contra los peligros de conducir bajo los efectos del alcohol o las drogas. Si su celebración del Super Bowl incluye alcohol o cannabis, planifique un viaje seguro a casa con un conductor sobrio. Si usted es el anfitrión de la fiesta, asegúrese de que los conductores designados estén sobrios.
Se realizarán patrullajes y controles adicionales desde el viernes 6 de febrero hasta la madrugada del lunes 9 de febrero.
Ya sea que asista a una fiesta, organice una pequeña reunión o salga a un bar, priorice la seguridad durante todo el día y la noche.   La campaña “Conduzca sobrio o será detenido” es administrada y financiada por el Departamento de Transporte de Illinois con fondos federales de seguridad vial administrados por la Administración Nacional de Seguridad del Tráfico en las Carreteras (NHTSA).

Super Bowl traffic safety campaign
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is reminding football fans and Super Bowl partygoers that designated drivers are the best defense against the dangers of impaired driving. If your Super Bowl celebration involves alcohol or cannabis, plan for a safe ride home with a sober driver. If you are hosting the party, take care of the designated drivers.
Extra patrols and enforcement will be conducted from Friday, February 6th through the early morning hours of Monday, February 9th.
Whether you’re attending a party, hosting a small gathering, or going out to a bar, keep safety at the forefront of your day and night. When it’s time to leave, make sure your designated driver is sober. No matter where you are seated in the vehicle, wear your seatbelt. Also, slow down and keep your eyes on the road!
If you’re heading out for a night of Super Bowl fun, make a game plan and follow these simple tips for a safe and happy evening:

• Drunk, high, or impaired by other drugs, it does not matter. It is never okay to drive impaired. If you feel different, you drive different!
• Designate a sober driver or plan to use public transportation or a ride service to get home safely.
• If you have taken medication that can cause drowsiness or slow reaction time, choose a sober ride.
• If you see an impaired driver on the road, contact law enforcement.
• Always buckle up!
