Gurnee, IL.- Detienen a 4 venezolanos que robaron en una tienda del mall Gurnee Mills el pasado sábado 3 de agosto, informó el Departamento de Policía de esta ciudad.
Tras un esfuerzo coordinado de agentes y asociados de prevención de pérdidas, el Departamento de Policía de Gurnee detuvo con éxito a cuatro personas que se cree que forman parte de una banda de ladrones venezolanos.
El incidente comenzó cuando los empleados de un importante minorista de Gurnee Mills alertaron a la policía de Gurnee sobre un robo minorista anterior. Los empleados proporcionaron a la policía la matrícula del vehículo infractor y las descripciones de los infractores. Esta información crucial permitió a los agentes utilizar el sistema Flock para recibir alertas si el coche regresaba.
Aproximadamente a las 4:15 p.m. del sábado 3 de agosto, el sistema Flock notificó a los agentes que el vehículo se acercaba a Gurnee Mills. Los agentes respondieron rápidamente al área para investigar. En coordinación con los asociados del importante minorista, los agentes se enteraron de que tres hombres y una mujer habían estado dentro de la tienda ocultando mercancías por valor de varios miles de dólares. Salieron de la tienda y huyeron con la mercancía.
Los agentes de policía de Gurnee localizaron el vehículo e iniciaron una parada de tráfico. Una investigación exhaustiva confirmó que los individuos tenían la mercancía robada y estaban relacionados con el robo anterior. Los cuatro delincuentes fueron detenidos sin incidentes.
En colaboración con la Oficina del Fiscal del Estado del Condado de Lake, los siguientes individuos fueron acusados de robo minorista, delito grave de clase 3:

• Esther L. Vega Escodebo, de 29 años
• Daniel D. Hernandez Colina, de 26 años
• Frank T. Silvia Rivera, de 26 años
• Jose J Chirinos, de 18 años
  El jefe de policía de Gurnee, Brian Smith, comentó: “El Departamento de Policía de Gurnee sigue comprometido con garantizar la seguridad de nuestra comunidad. Este arresto destaca la eficacia de la cooperación entre las empresas locales, la policía local y la Oficina del Fiscal General de Illinois en la lucha contra el robo organizado al por menor”.

Venezuelan gang of thieves arrested
On Saturday, August 3, 2024, following a coordinated effort by officers and loss prevention associates, the Gurnee Police Department successfully apprehended four individuals believed to be part of a Venezuelan theft crew.
The incident began when employees at a major retailer within Gurnee Mills alerted Gurnee Police to a previous retail theft. The employees provided police with the offending vehicle’s license plate and descriptions of the offenders. This crucial information enabled officers to utilize the Flock system to be alerted if the car returned.
At approximately 4:15 PM on Saturday, August 3, the Flock system notified officers that the vehicle was approaching Gurnee Mills. Officers quickly responded to the area to investigate. In coordination with associates from the major retailer, officers learned that three males and one female had been inside the store concealing several thousand dollars’ worth of merchandise. They exited the store and fled with the merchandise.
Gurnee Police officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. A thorough investigation confirmed that the individuals had the stolen merchandise and were connected to the earlier theft. All four offenders were taken into custody without incident.
In collaboration with the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office, the following individuals were charged with class 3 felony retail theft.

• Jose J Chirinos, an 18-year-old male
