Dos agentes del sheriff fueron atacados cuando intentaban arrestar a un delincuente juvenil por agresión doméstica.

Antioch, IL. – El 28 de enero de 2024, aproximadamente a las 3:30 p.m., agentes del sheriff fueron enviados a una dirección en la cuadra 25000 de Grass Lake Road, en Antioch, por una agresión doméstica en progreso. Después de llegar e investigar, los agentes determinaron que un joven de 17 años golpeó a un miembro de la familia en la cara varias veces.
Los ayudantes del sheriff le pidieron al menor que saliera de la casa, le informaron que estaba bajo arresto y comenzaron a colocarle los brazos detrás de la espalda cuando una joven de 17 años comenzó a interferir con el arresto.
La joven agarró el cinturón y la porra de uno de los agentes, en un intento de impedir que arrestara a su amiga. El agente pudo apartarla brevemente, pero ella volvió a acercarse y empezó a agarrar al agente. Mientras ella interfería en el arresto, el menor mordió el brazo del otro agente que intentaba detenerlo.
Después de morder al agente, se liberó y corrió antes de ser abordado por el segundo agente. Después de ser abordado, el joven continuó resistiendo y pudo golpear dos veces en la cara al agente que lo derribó. El agente, que originalmente fue mordido por el agresor, pudo poner a la jovencita bajo custodia después de que ella intentó agarrar su dispositivo de control electrónico (Taser). Los dos agentes pudieron entonces esposar al menor agresor; sin embargo, logró patear a uno de los agentes en el cuello.
Ambos menores fueron transportados a la División de Investigaciones Criminales de la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Lake. Los detectives del sheriff solicitaron/refirieron al menor a un tribunal de menores por cuatro cargos de agresión agravada a un agente del orden público, cuatro cargos de resistencia al arresto que causa lesiones y agresión doméstica agravada. Las peticiones/remisiones están pendientes en la joven.
Ninguno de los diputados resultó herido durante el forcejeo. Todos los acusados se presumen inocentes a menos que se demuestre su culpabilidad en un tribunal de justicia.

Two teens attack deputies during arrest
Two sheriff’s deputies were attacked as they attempted to arrest a juvenile domestic battery offender.
On January 28, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to an address in the 25000 block of Grass Lake Road, unincorporated Antioch for a domestic battery in progress. After arriving and investigating, the sheriff’s deputies determined a 17-year-old boy punched a family member in the face multiple times.
The sheriff’s deputies asked the boy to step outside the home, informed him he was under arrest, and began placing his arms behind his back when a 17-year-old girl began interfering with the arrest. The girl grabbed at the belt and baton of one of the deputies, in an attempt to stop the deputy from arresting her friend. The deputy was able to push her away briefly, but she again came and started grabbing at the deputy. While she was interfering with the arrest, the boy bit the arm of the other deputy, who was attempting to take him into custody.
After biting the deputy, the boy broke free and ran before being tackled by the second deputy. After being tackled, the boy continued resisting and was able to punch the deputy who tackled him in the face two times. The deputy, who was originally bitten by the boy, was able to place the girl into custody after she attempted to grab his electronic control device (Taser). The two deputies were then able to place the boy in handcuffs; however, he was able to kick one of the deputies in the neck.
Both juveniles were transported to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Sheriff’s detectives petitioned/referred the boy to juvenile court on the charges of four counts of Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer, four counts of Resisting Arrest Causing Injury, and Aggravated Domestic Battery. Petitions/referrals are pending on the girl.’
Neither deputy was injured during the struggle. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
