(Waukegan, IL. – Puerto Rican Society will hold an Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
The event is free and will take place at 150 S. Sheridan Road, Waukegan, Illinois. Parking will be available onsite for public use.
The organization sustained roof and water damage estimated at $180,000 in repairs and upgrades and was not in business for over nine months having to cancel rentals of the hall, bingo and many special events which generates the needed revenue, the organization has taken a big loss and setback. Many of the members and citizens throughout Lake County volunteered their time in cleaning, repairs and remodeling the facility due to a lack of funds and hardships. Donations will be greatly accepted!
