Waukegan, IL. -The Waukegan Park District is proud to present the third annual Waukegan Fire vs Gurnee Fire Charity Hockey Game on Saturday, April 6 at 6:15pm at the RecPlex Ice Arena in Pleasant Prairie WI.
The charity game proceeds benefit the Waukegan Park District Camp Scholarship Fund that helps reduce summer camp fees for many Waukegan families. Pre-game tickets are $7 per person, ages three years and older, and on sale until April 4th at the Belvidere Recreation Center, at 412 S. Lewis Avenue, and at the Field House Sports, Fitness, and Aquatics Center, 800 Baldwin Avenue, Waukegan. After April 4, tickets may be purchased at the door for $10 per person, ages three years and older; children under three are free.
Tickets must be presented at the door on the night of the event. During the game, Chuck a Puck will be played for various prizes. There will also be drawings with prizes. Pucks may be purchased for $3 each and the tickets for the drawings are $1 each.
Food will be available for purchase at the concession stand. Jennifer Dumas, Waukegan Park District Recreation Supervisor and Charity Game Coordinator, says “the charity game is a great example of the community working together to make a difference.” Thanks to each Firefighter from Waukegan and Gurnee for taking part in this event and contributing to a worthy cause.
A special thank you to the RecPlex Ice Arena for making the ice rink available; the players appreciate playing at the state of the art facility.
