Wadsworth, IL. – Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a Wadsworth woman for DUI and a Scott’s Law Violation after she drove drunk into a squad car.
On January 15, 2020, at approximately 10:35PM, a Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle. That vehicle pulled over on eastbound Wadsworth Road just east of Delany Road, Wadsworth. While the sheriff’s deputy was speaking to the violator, the deputy had their emergency lights on the squad car active.
As the sheriff’s deputy was speaking to the traffic violator, a 2013 GMC Acadia, driven by Corey L. Kirschhoffer, 47, of the 39800 block of North Mauser Drive, Wadsworth, struck the rear-end of the squad car. Fortunately, nobody was injured during the crash. Sheriff’s deputies determined Kirschhoffer was driving under the influence of alcohol.
