Gurnee, IL. - El Departamento de Transporte de Illinois anunció que se realizará un cierre completo en Grand Avenue (Illinois 132) al este de Skokie Highway (US 41), en Gurnee, comenzando, si el clima lo permite, el jueves 9 de julio.
El cierre es necesario para levantar vigas de acero para el nuevo puente Union Pacific Railroad, como parte de la mejora continua en Grand Avenue entre Skokie Highway y Waveland Avenue.
A partir de las 7 p.m., Grand Avenue estará completamente cerrada en las vías de Union Pacific, justo al este de la 41. Un desvío dirigirá el tráfico a Skokie Highway, Washington Street y Green Bay Road (Illinois 131).
Se espera que el trabajo se complete a las 5 a.m. del lunes 13 de julio. En ese momento, Grand Avenue se reanudará en un carril en cada dirección entre Skokie Highway y Waveland Avenue.

Closure of Grand Avenue east of Skokie Highway
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that a full closure will take place on Grand Avenue (Illinois 132) east of Skokie Highway (U.S. 41), in Gurnee, beginning, weather permitting, Thursday, July 9.
The closure is necessary to erect steel beams for the new Union Pacific Railroad bridge, as part of ongoing improvement on Grand Avenue between Skokie Highway and Waveland Avenue. Beginning at 7 p.m., Grand Avenue will be fully closed at the Union Pacific tracks just east of Skokie Highway.
A detour will direct traffic to Skokie Highway, Washington Street and Green Bay Road (Illinois 131). The work is expected to be completed by 5 a.m. Monday, July 13. At that time, Grand Avenue will resume to one lane in each direction between Skokie Highway and Waveland Avenue.
The overall project consists of removal and replacement of the Union Pacific Railroad bridge, pavement reconstruction and widening on Grand Avenue.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
