Round Lake, IL. – La División de Transporte del Condado de Lake (LCDOT, por sus siglas en inglés) ha iniciado un estudio para posibles mejoras no motorizadas en Rollins Road, y se necesitan la opinión del público.
El nuevo estudio se enfoca en una sección de aproximadamente 2.5 millas de Rollins Road en Round Lake Beach y Round Lake Heights. LCDOT está tratando de repavimentar la carretera y buscar formas de llenar los espacios en la acera en ambos lados de Rollins Road entre Fairfield Road y Civic Center Way.
Motivo del estudio
El pavimento de Rollins Road necesita repavimentación de mantenimiento para prolongar la vida útil de la estructura general del pavimento. En 2010, LCDOT completó un estudio que identificó brechas en la red no motorizada. LCDOT trabaja regularmente con agencias municipales y otros socios para buscar oportunidades para conectar los puntos y llenar esos vacíos.
LCDOT está aprovechando esta oportunidad para examinar los espacios en las aceras que existen actualmente a ambos lados de Rollins Road. Este estudio buscará formas de llenar los espacios en el lado norte, lado sur o en ambos lados de Rollins Road. Input wanted for upcoming Rollins Road Project
The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) has initiated a study for potential non-motorized improvements on Rollins Road, and public input is wanted!
The new study focuses on an approximately 2.5 mile section of Rollins Road in Round Lake Beach and Round Lake Heights. LCDOT is seeking to resurface the road and look for ways to fill sidewalk gaps on both sides of Rollins Road between Fairfield Road and Civic Center Way.
Reason for the Study
The pavement on Rollins Road needs maintenance resurfacing to extend the life of the overall pavement structure. In 2010, LCDOT completed a study that identified gaps in the non-motorized network. LCDOT regularly works with municipal agencies and other partners to look for opportunities to connect the dots and fill those gaps.
LCDOT is using this opportunity to examine sidewalk gaps that currently exist on both sides of Rollins Road. This study will look at ways to fill the gaps on the north side, south side, or on both sides of Rollins Road. The connection of these sidewalk gaps would connect users to many key destinations like local schools, businesses, parks, and the Metra station.
