Washington, DC. – El Departamento de Seguridad Nacional (DHS, por sus siglas en inglés) y la Oficina de Aduanas y Protección Fronteriza de EE. UU. (CBP, por sus siglas en inglés) anunciaron las cifras preliminares de control para septiembre de 2025, cerrando el año fiscal 2025 con el menor número de detenciones de la Patrulla Fronteriza desde 1970.
Esta hazaña demuestra el éxito de la administración Trump en restablecer el control en la frontera, a pesar de la desventaja de más de tres meses de caos en la frontera abierta impuesta por Biden al inicio del año fiscal.
“El año fiscal 2025 demuestra lo que sucede cuando aplicamos la ley sin concesiones”, declaró Rodney Scott, comisionado de la CBP. “Durante demasiado tiempo, los agentes y oficiales estuvieron atados de pies y manos por políticas fallidas. Hoy están capacitados para hacer su trabajo, y el resultado es el menor número de detenciones en más de cinco décadas y la frontera más segura de la historia moderna”.
Detenciones en la frontera suroeste: 237,565, el total más bajo en un año fiscal en 55 años, en comparación con las 201,780 del año fiscal 1970, y un 87% por debajo del promedio de los últimos cuatro años fiscales, que fue de 1.86 millones.
La mayoría de los encuentros ocurrieron durante la administración anterior: 172,026 detenciones (el 72% del total) ocurrieron durante los primeros 111 días del año fiscal bajo la administración Biden. Durante los siguientes 254 días, esta administración registró 65,539 detenciones, lo que representa solo el 27% del total del año.
Encuentros a nivel nacional: 26,000, una disminución con respecto al 26,191 de agosto de 2025 y un 89% por debajo del promedio mensual de la administración anterior. Promedio diario de detenciones en la frontera suroeste: 279 al día en septiembre, menos en un día entero ahora que en tan solo dos horas durante la administración anterior, y un 95 % menor que el promedio diario de la administración anterior de 5110 entre febrero de 2021 y diciembre de 2024.
Liberaciones: Septiembre marcó el quinto mes consecutivo sin liberaciones por parte de la Patrulla Fronteriza en la frontera suroeste, en comparación con las 9144 liberaciones de septiembre de 2024.

Lowest fiscal year apprehensions
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced preliminary enforcement numbers for September 2025, closing out Fiscal Year 2025 with the lowest U.S. Border Patrol apprehensions since 1970. This feat is a testament to the Trump Administration’s success in restoring control at the border despite the handicap of more than three months of Biden’s open-border chaos at the start of the fiscal year.
“Fiscal Year 2025 shows what happens when we enforce the law without compromise,” said Rodney Scott, CBP Commissioner. “For too long, agents and officers were handcuffed by failed policies. Today they are empowered to do their jobs – and the result is the lowest apprehensions in more than five decades, and the most secure border in modern history.”
Southwest Border Apprehensions: 237,565, the lowest fiscal year total in 55 years, compared to 201,780 in Fiscal Year 1970, and 87 percent below the average of the last four fiscal years which was 1.86 million.
Most encounters happened under the previous administration: 172,026 apprehensions, 72 percent of the total, occurred during the under the Biden Administration during the first 111 days of the fiscal year.
