Le enviamos esta carta para informarle de algunos cambios en nuestros procedimientos, así como para solicitar su apoyo. Como estoy segura de que pueden entender, los adolescentes y jóvenes de todo el mundo tienen una adicción a sus teléfonos. Lo ven como su salvavidas para sus compañeros, incluso más que las interacciones cara a cara.
River Trail tiene 175 niños de 12 a 14 años que son adictos a sus teléfonos, todos en el mismo lugar todos los días.
Dicho esto, estamos haciendo ajustes a nuestros procedimientos de telefonía celular aquí en la escuela. Todos los estudiantes deben colocar sus teléfonos en los casilleros al comienzo del día junto con su abrigo y almuerzo y dejarlos ahí todo el día. Los estudiantes NO deben llevar sus teléfonos con ellos durante el día.
Usaremos el siguiente proceso cuando se descubran estudiantes usando teléfonos durante el día escolar:

Primera ofensa
El maestro/personal recogerá el teléfono celular y se lo entregará a los administradores El administrador se comunicará con el hogar para informar a los padres saber que fue confiscado y será devuelto al estudiante al final
del día.

Segunda ofensa
El maestro/personal recogerá el teléfono celular y se lo entregará a los administradores El administrador se comunicará con el hogar para informar a los padres saber que fue confiscado por segunda vez y uno de los padres tendrá que ven a la escuela y contesta el teléfono.

Tercera Ofensa
El maestro/personal recogerá el teléfono celular y se lo entregará a los administradores El administrador se comunicará con el hogar para informar a los padres saber que fue confiscado por tercera vez. El estudiante servirá
detención después de la escuela, el padre deberá venir a la escuela y recoger el teléfono y, a partir de ese momento, el estudiante deberá verificar su teléfono en la oficina al comienzo de cada día escolar.

Si su hijo necesita comunicarse con usted durante el día escolar, puede pedirle a su maestro que use el teléfono del salón de clases o pida usar el teléfono de la oficina. NO envíe mensajes de texto, Snapchat o DM a su niño mientras está en la escuela. Esto solo aumenta aún más su distracción.

Dear River Trail Middle School Parents,
We are sending this letter to inform you of some changes in our procedures as well as to ask for your support. As I’m sure you can understand, adolescents and teens around the world have an addiction to their phones. They see it as their lifeline to their peers, even more than face-to-face interactions. River Trail has 175 12 to 14-year-olds who are addicted to their phones all in the same place every day!
That being said we are making adjustments to our cell phone procedures here at school. All students are to place their phones in the lockers at the start of the day along with their coat and lunch and leave them there all day. Students are NOT to carry their phones with them during the day.
We will use the following process when phones are discovered with a student during the school day:

First Offense
The cell phone will be collected by the teacher/staff and will be given to the administrators. The Administrator will contact home to let parents
know that it was confiscated and will be returned to the student at the end
of the day.

Second Offense
The cell phone will be collected by the teacher/staff and will be given to the administrators. The Administrator will contact home to let parents
know that it was confiscated for a second time and a parent will need to
come to school and pick up the phone.

Third Offense
The cell phone will be collected by the teacher/staff and will be given to the administrators. The Administrator will contact home to let parents
know that it was confiscated for the third time. The student will serve after-school detention, the parent will need to come to the school and pick up the phone, and from that point forward the student will need to check their phone in at the office at the start of every school day.
If your child needs to contact you during the school day they may ask their teacher to use the classroom phone or ask to use the phone in the office. Please DO NOT text, Snapchat, or DM your child while they are at school. This just further adds to their distraction.
