Grayslake, IL. – University Center of Lake County se complace en anunciar programas académicos diseñados para responder a las necesidades del mercado laboral y ampliar el acceso a una educación de alta calidad.
Estos programas reflejan el compromiso continuo del University Center de ofrecer oportunidades de aprendizaje flexibles y actualizadas para estudiantes tradicionales como no tradicionales en la región.

Programa ENLACE
El programa de Maestría en Educación Superior ENLACE, es un programa de posgrado de Northeastern Illinois University que prepara a los estudiantes para asumir roles de liderazgo en el ámbito de la educación superior.
Con un enfoque en el apoyo a estudiantes universitarios de primera generación y de diversos orígenes, el programa ofrece herramientas esenciales para desenvolverse y avanzar en entornos académicos.
“El programa ENLACE es más que un título: se trata de formar una nueva generación de líderes que comprendan las necesidades de la población estudiantil actual,” dijo el Dr. Gabriel Cortez.
El programa también ofrece la Beca ENLACE, una ayuda dirigida a estudiantes que demuestren un fuerte compromiso con el servicio a comunidades latinas, Instituciones al Servicio de los Hispanos (HSIS, por sus siglas en inglés) y estudiantes de primera generación.
La fecha límite para aplicar es el 15 de julio de 2025. Los seleccionados serán notificados a finales de julio y recibirán los fondos a principios de septiembre.

The University Center of Lake County (UCenter) is excited to introduce four new academic programs designed to meet the needs of today’s workforce while expanding access to inclusive, high-quality education. These offerings reflect UCenter’s ongoing commitment to creating flexible and relevant learning opportunities for both traditional and non-traditional students across the region.
The new programs include:
ENLACE Higher Education MA – Northeastern Illinois University
Lake County Teacher Residency – DePaul University & AUSL Chicago
Supply Chain Management Certificate – Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
Total Quality Management Certificate – Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
ENLACE Program
At the heart of this launch is the ENLACE Higher Education Master’s Program, a groundbreaking graduate degree from Northeastern Illinois University that focuses on preparing culturally responsive leaders to serve in colleges and universities. With a strong emphasis on the Latinx experience, the program is designed to support first-generation college students, immigrant communities, and those from historically underrepresented backgrounds.
“The ENLACE program is more than a degree, it’s a catalyst for equity in higher education,” said Dr. Grabiel Cortez. “It’s about building a pipeline of leaders who truly understand and reflect the diversity of today’s student population.”
The program also offers the ENLACE Fellowship, a limited scholarship opportunity for students with a clear commitment to working with Latinx communities, Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), first-gen students, and other marginalized groups. Applicants are selected based on their personal statement and alignment with the program’s mission.
Fellowship applications are due by July 15, 2024. Recipients will be notified by the end of July, and funding will be distributed in early September.
