Zion, IL.- La Escuela Primaria East ha recibido una subvención de $1,500 de la Fundación Hamels para ayudar a nuestras familias con las necesidades de alimentos de emergencia durante este tiempo sin precedentes.
La Fundación Hamels brinda apoyo para una educación de calidad tanto en los Estados Unidos como en Malawi, África. El Sr. Freer, Especialista en Medios de la Biblioteca en la Primaria East, completó la solicitud para beneficiar a las 20 familias de East ($75 para cada familia) que forman parte del Programa de Mochila de Alimentos con The Northern Illinois Food Pantry. ¡Gracias al Sr. Freer y a la Fundación Hamels!
Además, gracias a los maravillosos empleados de Walmart en Zion que ayudaron a la directora Muñoz durante su viaje de compras mientras recogía comida para las 20 familias. Los empleados ayudaron a la directora Muñoz a lo largo de todo el viaje de compras al ayudar a empujar y colocar artículos en los carros, cargar su automóvil (¡y el de ellos!) con las compras y, finalmente, tomarse un tiempo de su día para conducir hacia la Escuela East con el fin de ayudar con el proceso de descarga.

East Elementary School Receives Grant for Families
East Elementary School has received a grant in the amount of $1,500 from the Hamels Foundation to assist our families with emergency food needs during this unprecedented time. The Hamels Foundation provides support for quality education both in the United States and Malawi, Africa. Mr. Freer, East Elementary Library Media Specialist, completed and submitted the application to benefit the 20 East families ($75 to each family) who are part of the Food Backpack Program with The Northern Illinois Food Pantry. Thank you to Mr. Freer and The Hamels Foundation!
Additionally, thank you to the wonderful employees at the Walmart in Zion who helped Principal Munoz throughout her shopping trip as she picked up food for the 20 families. The employees assisted Principal Munoz throughout the entire shopping trip by helping to push carts, place items in carts, load up her car (and theirs!) with the groceries, and finally by taking time out of their day to drive to East in order to assist with the unloading process.
