Lake County, IL. – Jueces del Decimonoveno Circuito Judicial y miembros de la Asociación de Abogados del Condado de Lake participaron en una iniciativa estatal patrocinada por la Conferencia de Jueces Principales de Illinois y la Asociación de Jueces de Illinois para beneficiar a las escuelas, estudiantes y organizaciones comunitarias locales en preparación para el año escolar 2022-2023.
El Poder Judicial y el Colegio de Abogados donaron útiles escolares para apoyar la feria de recursos Time to Thrive Back to School Resource Fair del Boys & Girls Club of Lake County. El evento de distribución gratuita se llevó a cabo en el sitio de Genesee Club (724 S Genesee Street, Waukegan, IL 60085) desde las 8:30 am hasta el mediodía del sábado 20 de agosto de 2022.
El evento fue abierto al público y los primeros 500 niños recibieron una mochila llena de útiles escolares. El evento Time to Thrive también tuvo comida, diversión para los niños y varias organizaciones presentaron y compartiron recursos disponibles para las familias.
“Los jueces del Decimonoveno Circuito Judicial y el Colegio de Abogados del Condado de Lake estamos orgullosos de asociarnos con el Boys & Girls Club del Condado de Lake. Como juez supervisor del tribunal de menores, a menudo veo las luchas que nuestros hijos pueden enfrentar cuando no están preparados. Me complace que nuestra comunidad legal haya reconocido la importancia de ayudar a estos niños a prepararse, y nos sentimos honrados de participar en esta iniciativa que ayuda a los estudiantes a alcanzar su máximo potencial en el salón de clases, lo que resultará en un año escolar exitoso”, dijo el juez Reginald C. Mathews.
Legal community unites to help
Judges from the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit and members of the Lake County Bar Association participated in a statewide initiative sponsored by the Illinois Conference of Chief Judges and the Illinois Judges Association to benefit local schools, students and community organizations in preparation for the 2022-2023 school year.
The Judiciary and the Bar Association donated school supplies to support the Boys & Girls Club of Lake County’s Time to Thrive Back to School Resource Fair. The free giveaway event was held at the Genesee Club site (724 S Genesee Street, Waukegan, IL 60085) from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday, August 20, 2022.
The event was open to the public and the first 500 children received a backpack filled with school supplies. The Time to Thrive event also featured food, fun for the kids, and various organizations presented and shared resources available to families.
“The judges of the Nineteenth Judicial Circuit and the Lake County Bar Association are proud to partner with the Boys & Girls Club of Lake County. As a supervising juvenile court judge, I often see the struggles our children can face when they are not prepared. I am pleased that our legal community has recognized the importance of helping these children prepare, and we are honored to participate in this initiative that helps students reach their full potential in the classroom, resulting in a better school year successful,” Judge Reginald C. Mathews said.
