¿Qué momentos soleados has tenido últimamente?
Winter Takes a Pause
The unusual weather we have been having the last couple of days reminds us of the charm of living in the Chicago area. Snow Lovers may not be so happy with this warm weather burst, but for me … a few spring-like days in January are a gift.
I have to admit I like having four seasons. Enduring the blizzards, thunderstorms and tornado threats our Midwest tosses our way allows me to relish and appreciate even more the gentler times.
The four seasons parallel our lives. The storms we endure lets us appreciate and remember those surprisingly warm sunny life moments a bit more. We tend to be a bit more welcoming and patient during calmer weather.
What sun-filled moments have you had lately? Dennis and I had ice- cream with sprinkles and whipped cream. Did you enjoy a good bowl of soup with friends? Did you read a story with your son or daughter? Did you get a few extra minutes to sleep on the weekend? Did you take a walk with your dog? Did you say hello to a stranger? Did you give someone a hug? Did you pass it forward?
Yes, the wind will pick up and I am sure Old Man Winter will remind us soon that he is back. But if Mother Nature gives us a brief interruption with her weather, sit back and enjoy her surprise.
