Las elecciones generales del próximo 3 de noviembre, donde se decidirá el destino de la presidencia del país, de senadores, representantes estatales y del condado, están a la vuelta de la esquina, y a estas alturas del partido todo gira en torno a la política.
Es por ello, mis queridos tres o cuatro lectores, que nos hemos dado a la tarea de hacerles sugerencias de por quién votar basados en el perfil de la persona, no tanto en su partido político, porque eso no va con este periódico.
No podemos decir que las personas se definen según el color o partido al que pertenezcan, creemos que otorgar el voto de confianza a cierto candidato o candidata es basado en su formación, educación, compromiso, sinceridad, carisma, calidad humana, y hasta sentido del humor.
En PF News hemos votado, en distintas fechas, por personas republicanas, demócratas e independientes, y nos hemos puesto la camiseta por aquellos que consideramos, basados en las características antes dichas, que son los más indicados para el cargo.
Pero lo que consideramos verdaderamente importante, independientemente de por quién usted realice su voto, es que salga a votar y a hacer valer el derecho más importante que tenemos en este país.
No podemos quedarnos mirando, cruzados de manos, a que alguien más tome la decisión del rumbo de nuestro futuro y de nuestras familias, por nosotros.
Porque hay quienes aún piensan, y están en su derecho de pensar y creer en lo que deseen, de que todos los políticos son igual, la misma cosa y que nada cambiará si votan o no.
Tal vez esto sea cierto, pero debemos pensar, en mi opinión, en que aún hay buenas personas, que tienen buen corazón y las agallas para proponer y luchar por los cambios que necesita nuestro gobierno, ya sea a nivel local, estatal o nacional.
Nuestro voto es el granito de arena que se necesita para hacer la diferencia, y el voto hispano será, de ahora en adelante, decisivo para ganar o perder una contienda electoral.
Es por ello, y basado en nuestra experiencia de conocer a ciertos candidatos, les damos nuestro voto de confianza y los apoyamos en su contienda electoral.
En los siguientes días, seguiremos analizando los perfiles de los candidatos y diremos a quién le otorgaremos nuestro apoyo electoral, y recomendaremos públicamente al candidato o candidata.
Endosos
Para el puesto del Procurador de Justicia del Estado en el Condado de Lake hay dos aspirantes, Eric Rinehart, candidato demócrata que busca el puesto del actual procurador, Mike Nerheim.
En este caso, le damos nuestro apoyo a Mike Nerheim por considerarlo una persona de confianza de fácil acceso y de firmes convicciones.
Para representante estatal por el Distrito 61 tenemos al republicano Dan Yost, de quien prácticamente desconocemos su trayectoria en la comunidad hispana. Y, por otro lado, está Joyce Mason, una mujer demócrata que ha sacado adelante a su familia bajo circunstancias verdaderamente difíciles y que a través de estas páginas ha enviado información valiosa a nuestra comunidad hispana tiene nuestro respaldo electoral.
Para el puesto de Consejero del Condado de Lake en el Distrito 13 está, actualmente el cargo lo ostenta Sandy Hart, demócrata, a quien no vemos ni en los desfiles de independencia, tiene una difícil contienda ante la republicana Lauren Fleming, que a últimas fechas se ha mostrado muy participativa y voluntaria en actividades hispanas y que se proclama a favor de un verdadero cambio en la política del condado.
Es por ello que nuestro voto de confianza es para Lauren Fleming por el Distrito 13 del Condado de Lake.
Y nuestro cuarto respaldo electoral es para el afroamericano John Frazier en el Distrito 16 del Condado de Lake, para todos aquellos que viven en el área de Round Lake. Frazier es hasta ahora, el único que se pudo acercar de voluntario a nuestros Taqui-Censos para ayudar a la población a hacerse contar, ya que, del candidato en el puesto, Terry Wilke, no sabemos nada.

Even a month before the elections, we endorse candidates
The general elections on November 3, where the fate of the country’s presidency, senators, state and county representatives will be decided, are just around the corner, and at this point in the party everything revolves around politics.
That is why, my dear three or four readers, we have given ourselves the task of making suggestions for whom to vote based on the profile of the person, not so much on their political party, because that does not go with this newspaper.
We cannot say that people are defined according to the color or party to which they belong, we believe that granting the vote of confidence to a certain candidate is based on their training, education, commitment, sincerity, charisma, human quality, and even sense of self humor.
At PF News we have voted, on different dates, for Republicans, Democrats and Independents, and we have put on the shirt for those who we consider, based on the aforementioned characteristics, to be the most suitable for the position.
But what we consider truly important, regardless of who you vote for, is that you go out to vote and assert the most important right we have in this country.
We cannot just stare, folded our hands, at someone else making the decision of the direction of our future and our families, for us.
Because there are those who still think, and they have the right to think and believe what they want, that all politicians are the same, the same thing and that nothing will change whether they vote or not.
Perhaps this is true, but we must think, in my opinion, that there are still good people, who have a good heart and the guts to propose and fight for the changes that our government needs, whether at the local, state or national level.
Our vote is the grain of sand that is needed to make a difference, and the Hispanic vote will be, from now on, decisive to win or lose an electoral contest.
That is why, and based on our experience of meeting certain candidates, we give them our vote of confidence and support them in their electoral contest.
In the following days, we will continue to analyze the profiles of the candidates and we will say to whom we will grant our electoral support, and we will publicly recommend the candidate.
Endorsements
There are two applicants for the Lake County State Attorney General, Eric Rinehart, a Democratic candidate seeking the position of current Attorney General Mike Nerheim.
In this case, we give our support to Mike Nerheim as a trusted person with easy access and strong convictions.
For state representative for District 61 we have Republican Dan Yost, whose trajectory in the Hispanic community is practically unknown. And, on the other hand, there is Joyce Mason, a democratic woman who has raised her family under truly difficult circumstances and who through these pages has sent valuable information to our Hispanic community, she has our electoral support.
For the position of Lake County Councilor in District 13 is, currently the position is held by Sandy Hart, a Democrat, who we do not see even in the independence parades, has a difficult contest against Republican Lauren Fleming, who lately She has been very participatory and volunteer in Hispanic activities and that she advocates for a true change in county policy.
That is why our vote of confidence goes to Lauren Fleming for Lake County District 13.
And our fourth election endorsement is for African American John Frazier in Lake County District 16, for all those who live in the Round Lake area. Until now, Frazier is the only one who could volunteer for our Taqui-Censuses to help the population to be counted, since, of the candidate in the position, Terry Wilke, we know nothing.
