Leave the concert refreshed and inspired because live music is SOOO much more healing than any 5-inch plastic disc. It is especially important to enable students to experience quality live music.
Marvelous Concerts
Family Piano Co. of downtown Waukegan hosts marvelous concerts nearly every weekend. The venue is small: only about 50-80 super-comfortable chairs, similar to a house-concert. Shows typically start at 7:30 pm and end between 9 and 9:30. Tickets are usually a mere $10 in advance and $12 at the door – kids free.
Most of these professional artists typically play only concerts charging several times that much, or only in larger venues, but everyone loves the intimate atmosphere of Family Piano.
Ambience is always friendly, relaxed and casual. Ample free parking is provided in the lot on the west side of the building, off County Street, halfway between Belvidere and Washington. Avoid parking spots 1-7, but the other spots are only reserved Mon-Fri 8-5. You can even enjoy a favorite beverage from GreenTown Tavern during the shows (sorry, bringing your own drinks is not legal).
Latin Jazz
This Saturday, Family Piano is featuring Sammie Torres and Mauro Frosio playing upbeat Latin Jazz Fusion Music. Their performances always delight even tired or grumpy people, infusing them with peace and happiness!
