New York, NY. – Chicago Fire FC (8-6-2, 26 puntos) cayó 3-1 ante New York City FC (7-6-4, 25 puntos) el sábado por la noche en el Yankee Stadium. Joel Waterman anotó su primer gol de la temporada para los “Men in Red”, que se mantienen entre los cuatro mejores equipos de la Conferencia Este con 26 puntos.
Los locales se adelantaron en el marcador en el Bronx cuando Nicolás Fernández aprovechó un rebote en el minuto 11, enviando el balón a la escuadra izquierda desde fuera del área.
Chicago respondió 10 minutos después con un gol propio. Anton Salétros y Philip Zinckernagel se prepararon para ejecutar un tiro libre por la banda derecha; Salétros envió el centro al área y un defensor de Nueva York cabeceó el balón, elevándolo hacia el segundo palo, donde Waterman, que había continuado su carrera, estaba bien posicionado para rematar con la zurda y enviar el esférico junto al poste izquierdo.
Nueva York recuperó la ventaja en el minuto 29 gracias a Agustín Ojeda, quien aprovechó un pase filtrado de Andrés Perea, y posteriormente sentenció el marcador definitivo (3-1) en el minuto 40 por medio de Malachi Jones.

Chicago Fire FC (8-6-2, 26 points) fell 3-1 against New York City FC (7-6-4, 25 points) Saturday night at Yankee Stadium. Joel Waterman scored his first goal of the season for the Men in Red, who remain in the top four of the Eastern Conference with 26 points.
The hosts scored first in the Bronx when Nicolas Fernández capitalized on a rebound in the 11th minute that he sent into the upper left corner from distance.
Chicago responded 10 minutes later with a goal of their own. Anton Salétros and Philip Zinckernagel lined up to take a free kick on the right side, with Salétros sending the cross into the box. A New York defender headed the ball, sending it up and toward the far post, where Waterman had continued his run and was in place to send the ball inside the left post with his left foot.
New York reclaimed the lead in the 29th minute as Agustin Ojeda capitalized on a through ball from Andres Perea, then added a third to secure the final scoreline in the 40th minute by way of Malachi Jones.
