Gurnee, IL. – Agentes de la policía de Gurnee respondieron a la cuadra 3700 de Grand Avenue ante el reporte de un disturbio en el que participaban varias personas el pasado 26 de mayo de 2026, aproximadamente a las 10:55 a.m.
La investigación preliminar indica que el personal del establecimiento contactó al 911 después de que un cliente, Cameron R. Scott, de 35 años, se viera involucrado en una disputa verbal con una empleada.
Durante el incidente, Scott pasó detrás del mostrador e ingresó a un área restringida del negocio, donde continuó la discusión. Mientras la empleada intentaba tomar un bate de béisbol que se encontraba debajo del mostrador, Scott la golpeó en la cabeza con el puño.
Los investigadores determinaron que, posteriormente, Scott presuntamente se apoderó del bate de béisbol y lo utilizó para golpear a la empleada. Otros empleados acudieron al lugar tras escuchar el disturbio. Scott se abalanzó sobre ellos y comenzó a golpearlos con el bate. Durante el altercado, un empleado varón recibió un golpe en la cabeza con el bate.
Finalmente, los empleados lograron inmovilizar a Scott hasta que llegaron los agentes. Al llegar, los agentes encontraron a varias personas en el estacionamiento reteniendo a Scott en el suelo. Los agentes también observaron que Scott tenía en su poder un bate de béisbol metálico.
Tres empleados fueron trasladados al Advocate Condell Medical Center para la evaluación de sus lesiones. Scott también fue trasladado al hospital para ser evaluado por las lesiones sufridas durante el incidente.
El caso fue revisado por la Oficina del Fiscal del Estado del Condado de Lake, la cual aprobó la presentación de dos cargos por agresión agravada contra Scott. Se espera que este comparezca ante el tribunal de fianzas.

Arrested after assaulting with a bat
On May 26, 2026, at approximately 10:55 a.m., Gurnee officers responded to the 3700 block of Grand Avenue for a reported disturbance involving multiple individuals.
Preliminary investigation indicates staff at the business contacted 911 after a patron, Cameron R. Scott, 35, became involved in a verbal dispute with a clerk. During the incident, Scott went behind the counter and entered a restricted area of the business, where the argument continued. As the clerk attempted to retrieve a baseball bat from beneath the counter, Scott struck her in the head with his fist.
Investigators learned Scott then allegedly took possession of the baseball bat and used it to strike the clerk. Additional employees responded after hearing the disturbance. Scott charged at them and began striking the employees with the bat. During the altercation, one male employee was struck in the head with the bat.
Employees ultimately restrained Scott until officers arrived. Upon arrival, officers located several individuals in the parking lot holding Scott on the ground. Officers also observed Scott in possession of a metal baseball bat.
Three employees were transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center for evaluation of their injuries. Scott was also transported to the hospital for evaluation of injuries sustained during the incident.
The case was reviewed by the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office, which approved two counts of Aggravated Battery against Scott. He is expected to appear in bond court on Wednesday. This remains an active investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
