Lake County, IL. – Agentes del sheriff del condado de Lake capturaron y arrestaron a un hombre luego de un robo de auto ocurrido en Long Grove.
El pasado 18 de noviembre, aproximadamente a las 11:30 a.m., una mujer de 58 años de Long Grove estaba poniendo gasolina en una estación en la cuadra 200 de Robert Parker Coffin Road, Long Grove. Cuando terminó de cargar gasolina, escuchó un choque de autos. El accidente fue un Kia plateado, conducido por un joven de 19 años de la cuadra 5700 de West Park Avenue, Cicero, chocando contra una bomba de gasolina en la misma estación de servicio.
Después del accidente, el hombre salió del Kia, que luego se determinó que había sido robado de Berwin. Luego de salir del auto robado, el delincuente se acercó a la víctima, mientras ella entraba al asiento del conductor de su auto. El delincuente sacó por la fuerza a la víctima de su vehículo e intentó robar el vehículo de la víctima. La víctima se defendió y pudo volver al asiento del conductor de su coche. Luego, el delincuente la golpeó, la sacó a la fuerza del asiento del conductor nuevamente y le robó el auto.
Telecomunicaciones del Sheriff del condado de Lake transmitieron un mensaje regional de emergencia sobre el incidente. El vehículo de la víctima fue localizado por agentes de policía de Hawthorn Woods en el área de Old McHenry Road y Quentin Road. Los agentes intentaron detener el tráfico, pero el delincuente se dio a la fuga. El delincuente finalmente chocó el vehículo de la víctima en el área de Old McHenry Road y Abby Glenn Drive, Hawthorn Woods.
Numerosos agentes del sheriff acudieron al área y localizaron al delincuente en la Ruta 12 y Old McHenry Road. Sheriff’s Deputies apprehend carjacker
Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies captured and arrested a man following a carjacking that occurred in Long Grove.
On November 18, 2023, at approximately 11:30 a.m. a 58-year-old woman of Long Grove was pumping gas at a gas station in the 200 block of Robert Parker Coffin Road, Long Grove. As she finished pumping gas, she heard a car crash. The crash was a silver Kia, driven by a 19-year-old of the 5700 block of West Park Avenue, Cicero, crashing into a gas pump at the same gas station.
After crashing, the man exited the Kia, later determined to be stolen out of Berwin. After exiting the stolen car, the offender approached the victim, as she entered the driver’s seat of her car. The offender forcefully removed the victim from her vehicle and attempted to steal the victim’s vehicle. The victim fought back and was able to get back into the driver’s seat of her car. The offender then battered her and forcefully removed her from the driver’s seat again, and stole her car.
Lake County Sheriff’s Telecommunicators broadcasted an emergency regional message regarding the incident. The victim’s vehicle was located by Hawthorn Woods Police Officers in the area of Old McHenry Road and Quentin Road. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the offender fled. The offender eventually crashed the victim’s vehicle in the area of Old McHenry Road and Abby Glenn Drive, Hawthorn Woods.
Numerous sheriff’s deputies responded to the area and located the offender on Route 12 and Old McHenry Road. The offender attempted to carjack another vehicle on Route 12, however, the driver had his doors locked. Sheriff’s deputies apprehended the offender and took him into custody without further incident.
The victim sustained minor injuries. The offender remains in custody at the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, pending criminal charges.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
