FBLA qualifies for National Competition in Texas

Mundelein, IL. – Students and advisors of the Mundelein High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America [FBLA] traveled to and competed at the State Leadership Conference in Springfield on April 6 and 7. More than 30 members competed, either at the conference or beforehand, in various events that tested their business leadership skills.
Of those who competed, several Mundelein FBLA members placed high enough to qualify, as an individual or as a team, to continue on to the National Leadership Conference. Nationals will be held in San Antonio, Texas June 27 through July 3. “We are so proud of our members for putting in the effort to study, prepare, and compete at the State level, and can’t wait to bring a wonderful group to Nationals,” said FBLA advisor, Sarah Menas.
Mundelein FBLA member Sofia Feijoo also campaigned and was elected as Illinois State Secretary by Illinois voting delegates. Jillian Hoffstadt was awarded a pin for her completion of the Leader level of the Business Achievement Awards, and was recognized for being only one of three Illinois FBLA members to have already completed the final level, the America level, as well. The Mundelein chapter of FBLA was awarded seventh in the Largest Local Chapter award.

Third Place: Business Calculations: Sahil Patel; E-Business: Kavana Belagur, Esther Marcos, Taneesha Tavkar; Emerging Business Issues: Justin So, Sydnie Mathews
Fourth Place: Introduction to Financial Math: Nathan Clapp
Fifth Place: Business Financial Plan: Sofia Feijoo, Flavio Diaz
Ninth Place: Journalism: Ashley Cline
Tenth Place: Economics: Ilya Vynnyk; Introduction to FBLA: Xavier Greene; Management Decision Making: Jillian Hoffstadt, Mateusz Brak; Website Design: McKenzie Begg, Ellianna Pearson, Lauren Geary.
